| Murray wins in 4 after a second set lapse.
Elena Dementieva and Jelena Jankovic both crashed out of the Womens' draw yesterday.

| He's not going to blame his injured wrist, but he makes sure he mentions it in the press conference nonetheless.
I thought he was past always blaming some injury or other whenever he lost, comprehensively outplayed by a better player on the day.

He'll never win a major, he hasn't got the mental toughness required. The fact that he mentioned the wrist injury speaks volumes.

If you actually watch the interview he gets asked if the wrist was a problem and that is when he made his comment.
He did praise his opponent and also commented on how badly he played himself.
When you don't like somebody it's easy to try and pick at everything they say or do. Its quite amusing the way people comment on Murray when he loses and ignore the tournaments he wins and the fact he is currently the world no.2.

I've highlighted the reason why he is nothing like Henman.

| Take a bow Del Potro, I watched it for about an hour and then went to bed expecting Federer to complete a straight sets win.
When you look at the top 5 there is not much between any of them, Federer, Nadal, Murray, Djokovic and Del Potro.

| I was neutral before the final but am so glad that Del Potro won after the ridiculously childish outburst from Federer in the 2nd set...telling the umpire to "shush, I'm talking" was very funny and annoying at the same time!!
Kudos to Del Potro though, he looked goosed from about halfway through the 4th set but still managed the win by cleverly slowing his serves down so he could be more accurate thus minimising the amount of serves he made...and that forehand of his is absolutely immense.
Shows how much depth there is in mens tennis at the minute with him winning the tournament, Cilic making big strides, plus the plentiful other good, young players in the game.
Shame the women's game is totally dog turd...says it all when a wildcard who hasnt played for a couple of years can win the tournament.

Except 4 of them have won majors and one hasn't (and won't until he gets himself some mental strength).

| Seriously why do we even bother with Davis Cup/International Tennis all we are is a laughing stock, It's a good job we have Andy Murray and if i was him i'd be thinking why do i even bother with such a lack of talent to support me...

No - Jelena Jankovic. I note that Henin is talking of coming back - just to annoy Kim Clijsters, no doubt. She could probably play with her wrong hand and still win.

Well Safina has just lost in straight sets to an unseeded Chinese player in the second round at Beijing. She is truly awful.

Get your money on Lithuania! Scandalous when you think of the money the LTA has been given in grants etc. I assume they must get a cut of Wimbledon receipts etc as well. They must be awash. After Murray, the others aren't worth a punnet of strawberries. Indeed at Wimbledon I was asked at the counter if I wanted strawberries and cream or two English players. No contest.

I've tried on the Lithuanian Tennis Assoc.'s website and you can tell that the beeb have their budget right of £100,000. Davis cup's site sends you to the LTA's site. Will keep trying!

Think the Davis Cup is actually run by the ITF, but I would have thought the LTA would be involved somewhere. Email its boss Roger Draper - he gets paid enough.
