FFS he's getting a player who used to be excellent, but now has question marks over him. All the previous deals were rumoured to be pay-as-you-play, so there's no reason why United couldn't get a similar deal - considering how much better it'll be for Owen to be at United rather than Hull or Stoke.

It's a ridiculously easy decision for Ferguson. If Owen does well for United he'll get paid based on the games he plays. If he does **** all at United he'll cost next to nothing.

Owens biggest problem, in the last two season has been his desire imo, he has looked like someone one looked disinterested in the game. Going to Utd would change that and maybe Fergie's passion would reignite his desire for the game?

If that is the case then Utd have a useful squad player who would certainly score more goals than Tevez and it could be a potentially excellent deal for the player and club. Owen also has the incentive of it being a WC year and if he plays well with Rooney it code bode well with Capello.



That said Utd still need to bring in a striker and a midfielder, going into the season with only Rooney, Berba and Owen plus the current midfield which inculdes Giggs and Scholes would imo see us finishing in 3rd behind Liverpool and Chelsea.
