| Quote ="ST_CONROY"Yes i'm telling you that. Brandon Marshall has been placed with a round 1 tender. Jared Gaither has been placed with a round 1 tender. Your telling me that a kicker (who sees the field what 4 or 5 times a game maximum) is only worth one round less than one of the best recievers and left tackles in the game.
No kicker is worth anything more than a round 3 or more likely round 4 pick. It's ridiculous to suggest otherwise.'"
Well I disagree, not the first time and wont be the last Im sure
Quote ="ST_CONROY"Maybe the Jets want to keep him, hence tendering him so high.'"
Its not suprising they seem to be a team thats happy to have mediocre recievers
and all this after releasing their best RB
I have to say though Im pretty happy they are not sorting out their terrible WR core, they could become better a lot quicker if they just sorted this out and could become a real threat, but Im happy for them to just make the play-offs every so often and so are they by the looks of it!!
Maybe they can sign Laveranues Coles again now that hes been released

This year I think you have to give up if you have one. What happen if you don't have one this year I'm not sure.
I hope to god we go after Gaither. He is excellent and only 24. To be able to get such a good LT for just a 1st is a bargain. He can protect Rodgers for years.

| The Bears look like they may be busy in this free agency with them talking to Chester Taylor, Julius Peppers, Antrel Rolle and Brandon Manumaleuna already...........
There seems to be a lot of CB`s getting released, is there a lot of CB depth in the draft? I dont follow it that closely!

The pick will be a round 2 or 3 depndant on performance (not sure whether it's performance of the team or player). So worst case a 3rd. That's the best the Chargers could've possibly got I think, everyone knew they wanted shut.
The more surprising news coming out of Charger Park is that Jamal Williams has been released (although they're trying to work on a contract) and they have had a change of heart on Darren Sproles - tendered for round 1 and 3 picks. That means he'll make over $7m next year.

Not especially. Joe Haden is the number 1 CB in the draft. He's from Flordia and is worthy of a top 10 pick. The next one behind him is probably Kyle Wilson, of Boise State who will go in the 1st round. He has an amazing bus, google it!
Behind them two, you have a pretty solid bunch who probably wouldn't be ready to start straight away, but have potential to be very good NFL players. A good mid round pick up would be Akwasi Owusu-Ansah - I certainly hope he lands in SD.

Despite this baggage that I wasn't aware of, he's a good player. There's not many team in NFL that'll have a CB duo as good as the jets.

True although that last quote was about Travis Henry.
I honestly think if the Jets add a couple of good WR`s they could be a real force, for me theres a question mark over the running game now that they have released Thomas Jones , Shonn Greene looked good but with Leon Washington coming off a bad injury they are lacking depth ATM IMO

=#8000FFWatch out for them (if they can under the final 4 ruling) send in an offer sheet to Brandon Marshall and use their first round pick on him instead of a rookie in the first round. Instant threat at WR to keep a defence honest and prevent them from stacking 8 in the box and stopping the run.

| Cromartie has a lot of talent, there's no doubt about that, none whatsoever. However his attitude stinks, and he hates tackling. I'm surprised he's moved to the Jets, as he was terrible against them in the playoff game against them. The Shonn Greene TD saw him totally brick it from tackling him.
Anyway, Ryan thinks he can get the best out of him, and hopefully he can. I have a Cro shirt I got after his 10 interception sophmore year! That's when his slump began!

| Cromartie/Jets deal is a good one.
Apparently Peppers is all but signed for Chicago.
I'm actually pleased because hopefully it will force our hand into going after Gaither for LT and maybe a guy for the RT spot. Sort them out and we are going to be a force next year. Otherwise Rodgers will be sacked even more next year, with Peppers and Suh chasing him.

You'd think so! He's the opposite to Norv Turner, so will hopefully demand a more physical style from him. Like I said, clearly Rex thinks he can.
The other issue with Cro is his love of the party lifestyle off the field. The worry is being in New York, there is a lot of temptation for a man with an eye for the ladies! I hope maternity departments of the New York hospitals are developing "Cromartie Contingency Plans" for increased volumes!

Has Gaither to GB been touted much? It seems like a no brainer to me that you should put an offer in.
The RFA I'd love AJ Smith to go after is Kirk Morrison for a 3rd - the Raiders want rid and he would be an instant upgrade at ILB for the Chargers.
In other news, Delhomme is released by the Panthers.

Kind of.
Grant is an above average starter, and he gets us 1000 yards plus each year, but he is always way up in carries. We need some help for him. Ahman Green is a decent 3rd back but we need a RB who can help Grant. I'd like Westbrook if he was on a decent wage.
And RedTez. I've heard it mentioned slightly, but mainly just because it makes so much sense. I really like him, and did when he was a Baltimore player, he is just an excellent LT and only 24. Even if he was tendered higher (1st and 3rd) i'd pay it.
We are pretty candid in FA and rarely pay out, i just hope we have the guts to go after him.
