40,000 for a minority sport? An amazing figure I'm sure you'd agree. When has a basketball, snooker, darts, badminton, polo, hockey, ice hockey, gymnastics, squash, swimming or baseball international or cup final ever drawn a similar figure in the UK?

Good point Catalancs. You are right, 40k is a fantastic number for a minority sport. But the NRL trolls were trying to claim that it would be similar to the number that watched the rugby world cup final. The rugby league world cup final only attracted 50k fans in Australia, where Dally and Old Darlin estimate 645million people watch the game weekly on the TV. It has no chance in england where between 100k and 200k people watch it each week
