There's maybe a space for him as old head and captain in the seconds or Academy, but his first team days have to be numbered.

Good day out yesterday mind, thought we had nowhere near enough, particularly when Essex started like a train. Great performance and we've got half a chance of qualifying for the semis now.

I hope Yorkshire take the T20 a bit more seriously than they are doing the YB40 this year. I can understand wanting to rotate players, but fielding virtual second team line-ups in the 40-over format is disrespectful to the competition IMO.

Kane Williamson a fine signing for Yorkshire to the end of the season. It is a bit much to ask him to replace Root, Bairstow, Bresnan, Ballance, Lees and Plunkett all on his own though...

The England Lions concept really needs to be revisited.

I can see its value in terms of overseas tours during the winter, but thought has to be given on scheduling during the summer.

Having games in the middle of a Test series and a round of Championship games causes real disruption to counties. I know the ECB really don't give a flying one about anything other than Team England, but when you're penalising counties for producing English players by taking them away (over and above the centrally contracted ones) it's rendering the county game meaningless.
