| Big weekend of premiership football. Looking forward to Liverpool v Bolton tonight, goot a feeling there will be goals in it. Been given our yearly message from the club r.e Wenger chants.
The Fans’ Forum, Sir Alex Ferguson and the Club, urge all fans at Sunday’s game to get behind the team and not to chant crude personal abuse at the officials of Arsenal Football Club.
The football world will be watching the match on Sunday and we all want to promote the image of Manchester United fans as the best in the game. None of us want to be associated with that sort of abuse and those who ignore this may be subject to sanction by the Club.
As Sir Alex says, “Let’s do our rivalry firstly out on the pitch through our players and then off the field with massive support for our team.”
Thanks

| Quote ="Enfield Exile"I am not basing my opinion on this season as the first two games mean very little.
Regarding Inter and the CL, he simply didn'yt have the team. Mourihno won the CL with Inter but that was with a lot of investment added to Mancini's team.'"
He had a side that was entirely dominant of Serie A, he maybe didn't have the team to win it, but his side always looked average in Europe. Liverpool beat them without getting out of third gear, if you look at some of the sides he went out to during his time as Inter manager, he evidently underachieved with a side that was still one of Europe's strongest. Mourinho's investment obviously made them better, but Mancini still underachieved with Inter in Europe.

| Just watching MOTD.....Even as an Evertonian, I have to ask, what the f*** did we get that penalty for??...
Looks like another season of mediocre refereeing is on the cards, if that's the standard they operate at....

I don't think the referee gave the decision. He seemed willing to turn away from it but then turned back and awarded the penalty. I'm not too sure it wasn't a penalty, the camera angles on Sky weren't great. It does look as though he puts both hands on Fellaini's back/shoulders and that is always going to be a penalty.
Must say though that Blackburn will feel robbed. They were all over Everton for most of the match including the whole of the second half. Massive territorial advantage and they troubled Everton enough as well. But the don't have any quality up front at all.
Everton however were absolutely terrible today. Disjointed in defense and clueless with the ball. Were it not for Tim Howard we would have lost that game by plenty. Best keeper in the galaxy.

Agreed. Beating Bolton and drawing with Sunderland at home, together with beating 10 men Arsenal, is no mean feat.

If Formica's two dives where given that had to be also, I think there was enough in it to be a foul. Had Fellaini done that he'd have given Blackburn a free kick so why shouldn't he award a penalty? He climbs all over Fellaini and drags him down too. I'm still not convinced either way on it but I think there was enough of Samba all over Felli to give a foul.
Apart from that it was an unbelievably bad performance, we were hopeless from the word go until we got that penalty. How Blackburn didn't score I'll never know, hit the post, the bar, missed two penalties and had one clawed off the line by Howard. Blackburn out played us for 90 mins but yet we've escaped with the points. The parts that you wouldn't have seen on MOTD were dominated by Blackburn too, during the 90 mins yesterday they had more than enough quality to be away from the bottom, I think they'll get themselves away from trouble.

Whilst Formica made the most of it, the challenge from Barkley was definitely a pen. Too clumsy not to give, really.

If Formica had taken the stride and fallen over the leg Barclay left there then it would have been. But Formica dived way before there was any contact. He needs to work on his technique.

Definately. I wouldn't argue with that one, I said yesterday the first one was and it was stupid of Barkley to invite Formica to go over.
Quote ="Lord Tony Smith"Could be a long season for the Bluenoses.'"
I don't think it's could, unfortunately I think it will be. After the international break we have Villa and Wigan at home, games we have to win because following that we have to go to City, Fulham, Chelsea and have the derby and Man Utd at Goodison. Tough run from mid Septemeber to end of October.

I'm not so sure, he went over twice and won two penalties, he'll probably say his technique was fine

| What a goal from Young. What a terrible penalty from Van Persie. Cannot be bothered taking a penalty properly in a game at Old Trafford. He should get the hair drier, the sink and the bar of soap from Wenger at half time for that.
Wenger is an absolute fool. Centre backs Arsene, centre backs. They've troubled United going forward but they are so weak at the back it's untrue. I just don't get his policy. These young players he's signed from overseas are largely pants and they look so feable across the park. They'll be lucky to get into Europe.

I think a few fantasy leagues are being won today. Having Dzeko as captain today will probably net you a weeks worth of points on it's own.

| Dzeko was only owned in appro 8.5% of leagues before this gameweek. I imagine even fewer captained him, maybe, 1-2% at a guess. FPL official that is.
