Watching on MotD there's no way Reina or any defender could be expected to clear that beach ball.

It's terrible that the ref, his lino's and the 4th official couldn't come up with the correct decision. It's pretty damning that Graham Poll could only say that it "probably" should have been disallowed.

But most people don't know all the rules of the game. You don't need to know all the rules to play, manage or watch the game.
