Looks like Andre Smith will be signing for the Bengals after 31 days of his holdout.
I think he and his agent Alvin Keels have caved and given in to Mike Brown's contract offer, which means the slotting system may just have been blown open.
I doubt he will be ready for our opener against Denver and it will be hard to beat out Anthony Collins at RT at the moment but i'm sure he will be occupying either the right or left tackle position by the end of the season with Andrew Whitworth moving back to guard.

Tedy Bruschi is going to announce his retirement today even though it doesnt come as a total suprise as I had a feeling he was going to do so at the end of the season it is still a bit gutting.
I dont know what other teams fans think of him but he was without a doubt one of my favourite players to play for the Pats, to come back from a stroke and play just 8 months later was pretty awe inspiring and pretty much unheard of. I know he may not have the numbers like Ray Lewis, Brian Urlacher etc but it would not suprise me if a few years down the line he ended in the hall of fame, Im not saying he will be a first ballot hall of famer and it may even be 10-15 years but the way he played it just wouldnt suprise me. Being a big part of the 3 superbowl wins means he will never be forgotten amongst the Pats fans and Im sure that there will be a defensive coaching role for him somewhere along the line.
He was without doubt one of the leaders of the team not just the defensive unit

noticed that myself but also noticed on nfluk that five have 2 matches in week 1.
Sky are still showing total access though so I'm assuming they will still have the games. |

I would imagine they still have the contract, it seems really strange that they aren't advertising it yet, or showed any pre-season games.
I really hope they show the games because Mike Carlson is the most unfunny crap commentator/studio guy i have ever heard and the Five broadcast is poor IMO. I'd rather have Ray French commentating on the NFL than him. |
