henderson said he had suffered a setback which ruled him out of the first half of the season, then either a new or existing problem scuppered his cheltenham chances so they've just scrapped this year and gonna try and get him back on all cylinders for next year.

the horse i wish was running in the champion hurdle is grandouet - would've been interesting to see him take on the big boys. memories of him winning the international just before christmas are still fond however.

Also backed Boston for the 3m race @ 3/1 and also Sea Of Thunder @ 15/2 EW was sent to do a job over CD and was going to win impressive before falling at the last.

Peddlars Cross is ducking the Arkle and running in the Jewson. Good for my 10 to follow, but a very surprising decision imo.

Surprisingly so, get plenty of free time to do everything I need to do. I barely go out drinking, and my timetable is very spaced out at present.
Have only had one bet in the past few weeks, waiting for the festival.


Wednesday's Will Hill special is 5/1 on Peddlers Cross for the Jewson.

Just been looking at the form for the Queen Mother Champion Chase and I've got a fancy for Somersby. He must be the most consistant horse placing in G1's over 3M and 2M winning his latest outing at 2M. Outside of Sizing Europe its anyones guess. Might have a reverse exacta on Somersby and Sizing Europe.

Ruby Walsh pointed the best bet out last week. Paddy Power are offering money back if sprinter sacre wins the arkle on all other horses up to £100. I've now lumped on Al Ferof. He beat Sprinter Sacre over Cheltenham last year, Sprinter Sacre has raced a bit keen so fare over fences and I don't think hes actually come up against any quality oposition. Al Ferof should come on for his run against Somersby and Finians Rainbow the other week where he didn't discgrace himself.

Have Somersby's connections confirmed him for the Champion Chase? I presumed his preferred target was the Ryanair and have backed him for that NRNB.

Think I'll probably have a play on Al Ferof, as I've got Sprinter Sacre in a few multiples so as long as one of the two win it, I'll be relatively happy.

The Boylesports deal is better. Refunding all bets in the first four races of the Festival if your horse finishes 2nd.

Hills have gone 5/1 for Peddlers for the Jewson today, just put a decent sized on bet on it. Looks like a weak race to me and surely Peddlers has the class to win this and McCain has sent him here purely because he thinks he has the better chance opposed to something wrong?

At the 5 day declaration stage - the Champion Hurdle will be contested by upto 12 horses. And what a stellar field - One of the best of the Festival.

Still can't see past the Hurricane someone may need to run the race of their lives to beat him.

For Non Stop for me in the Jewson. Been very impressed with him this year, only just behind Al Ferof and then a good win last time out.

I can see Zarkandar really challenging, if he can get a length or two up going up the hill then he might just be able to fend Hurricane Fly off.

Can't see Zarkandar running wants a bog to be at his best.

One thing or another has prevented me from making my annual trip to the Festival this year, however this race alone is tempting me into a day trip.

Zarkandar needs to find 14lbs on figures to get involved which is tough ask.

One thing is for sure with a clear round like last year the Fly will be there coming down to the last with Ruby just waiting to push the button...

Shame about Invictus, he was going to be a place lay in the RSA. Instead will be laying Grand Crus, just too short and does'nt look like 1 who likes to battle imo. Sir Des Champs would be my idea of the winner, but Mullins is balling about again, so best wait until the day.

Will also be laying Sacre Sprinter in the Arkle, do not like horses that break course records lto and he's got the hill again. Al Ferof win and place, Cue Card to place, and Astracad

to place if he runs.

Can't see past Hurricane Fly, so place bet on Rock on Ruby.
Will lay Sizing Europe in the champion and place bet Finians Rainbow.
Leave the handicaps and mickey mouse x country race alone.
For Non Stop in the Jewson
Noble Prince in the Ryanair and place bet Oscar Whiskey.
Leave the big novice hurdles alone, until I deffo know whats running. And a place lay of Kauto Star. Apparently at deaths door the other day, now he's raring to go

Will either fall or pull up. Lay Long Run, another hype horse who does'nt deserve his rating. The race is screaming for an upset. Already on Captain Chris ew @ 40s.

That teamed with Big Bucks, Hurricane Fly and Sizing Europe in an accumulator.

are we going to have a cheltenham tipping comp this year? Would be good to see how everyone would do over the 4 days.

I've had a lucky 31 for the first day containing.

Colour Squadron- if he didnt fall last time out he would have beaten Montbazon, he is a strong traveller and has been either 1st or 2nd in all other races. A huge each way punt at 16/1 and could win.

Sprinter Sacre- I've gone with Nicky Hendersons instinct here. He has bigged this horse up like there is no tomorrow and I think rightfully so. The hill will be a test for him again but he looks to have improved ten fold. Al Ferof looks like he needs a bit longer than the 2m and I think he will definately step up in trip after this and possibly be aimed at the Ryanair next year. Hes clearly got staying potential and he may go up to 3m like his half brother Grand Crus.

Hurricane Fly- Can anyone stop the Hurricane? I was hugely impressed with him in his seasonal reappearance. The only horse who I feel could get close to him is Binocular if he runs up to form. However, I don't think anyone will stop the fly.

Garde Champetre- The cross country is a very interesting race on paper with Sizing Australia, Scotsirish and Garde Champetre horses who I took into consideration. I like to look at the cheltenham form of horses and Garde Champetre ran over C&D last time and won, beating Scotsirish in the process and was only just over a length behind Sizing Australia last year, with a swing in the weights I think this horse stands a great chance and should be again an each way bet with 9/1 available at some bookmakers.

Quevega- in the mares hurdle I have to go with quevega. Definate deserved favouritism. An interesting bet in this race though is Swincombe Flame, never gives anything short of 100 percent. Can't see her having enough class to beat Quevega though.

So I am predicting day 1 to be a good day for the Irish with Quevega,Garde Champetre,Hurricane Fly all being owned by irish trainers.
