| Quote ="Saddened!"I thought the United players look in really poor condition. I know they've played midweek in Milan, but professional athletes shouldn't find that too challenging. Rooney is a big lad anyway, but today from the very first minute you could tell he wasn't in the right condition to play. His running and movement in general was laboured and his touch was simply awful. Some of his dribbling was funny at times, at one point he ran past us with it at his feet, after three or four poor touches he was dribbling it around his knees and knocking it 20 yards ahead of himself. I think United should have spotted this earlier and taken him off. Someone like Macheda or Diop would have provided more of a threat today than Wayne did, even Scholes behind Berbatov would have been an idea.'"
His touch this season has been god awful at times. Macheda is still injured ATM. I'd like to give Diouf a run out against West Ham, he's looked good when he's come on in the first XI, and he's ripping up the Reserve team. Definitely deserves a shot.
Quote ="Saddened"United are in real danger of becoming a complete one man team. Without Rooney I doubt they would win anything, I think they would struggle to compete for the title. There are too many average squad players there and there will be some heavy investment needed when the likes of Scholes, Giggs, Neville, VDS etc retire. The likes of Evans, Carrick, Park, Brown and Fletcher would struggle for a starting place in the Everton side at the moment. They are fine when you've got several world class players, but once Scholes and Giggs are gone how many top quality midfield and attacking players do United have left? Just the one?'"
If the rest of the team is playing badly, Rooney does too. He isn't like Ronaldo who could change the game on his own.
Today Carrick and Fletcher had a nightmare, in the first half our best play was down the right hand side, where we caused Everton all sorts of problems. For some reason in the second half we didn't feel like using the right flank to create anything.
You've been a tad harsh on Park I feel, he's had a decent few games in the team. He was certainly much better than Obertan who was as useful as a chocolate fire guard. He hasn't played since Leeds, and he shouldn't be playing again any time soon after that performance.

Fergie should give Rooney the week off and not play him against WH midweek. Two games a week sometimes on his own up front are taking their toll imo. A break will do him no harm.'"
Everton were full value for their win. As a neutral I thought it was a really entertaining affair.

If they had Fellaini and Cahill fit maybe. The win over Utd was especially good without either!!

| Does anybody know of an occasion when Brothers have lined up opposite each other as captains like the Chuckle brothers did yesterday??? I'm pretty certain it hasn't happened since the game was invented (otherwise known as the start of the premier league).
Any other occasions????

Think thats the fourth time the Nevilles have lined up against each other both sporting the armband.
Top of the form table, can't argue with that

Quote ="BBC Sport"1722: Back under way at Wigan 0-1 Tottenham. On BBC Radio 5 live, they said they were showing replays of Jermain Defoe's goal on the screens at half-time and one Wigan fan was so disgusted he threw his pie at the telly. It splattered all over the place, apparently. Haha.'"

| City employ Tevez and pay his wages. They're entitled to demand him back, especially if he's gone AWOL.

The BBC portray the club in a more understanding light.
news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 527916.stm
I've got plenty of sympathy for Tevez but can understand Mancini's position.
Clearly the player must put his family first and needs to be with his wife and child whilst her life is in danger. The question really is what happens once her life is out of danger. It seems to me to be very unlikely that the child will be able to travel to the UK any time soon. And you can understand that, after what they've been through, Carlos will be very reluctant to leave his family in Argentina and return without them.
I can understand Mancini's frustration at not knowing when the player will return, particularly as it seems that the club have been told that she is out of danger. And it may be that Mancini's english isnt good enough to appreciate how harsh the term "order" sounds. But ultimately there's little point in Tevez returning if his mind is going to be elsewhere and no point destroying the relationship between Tevez and City/Mancini.

WTF is with South American players and .ing off home whenever they want? I know Tevez' wife has had pregnancy problems, but Robinho, Ronaldo, Adriano and I think Ronaldinho have all just gone AWOL before. Probably some more I don't know about too.

| Why is it that players and shout at the referee for a decision against them, but a manager can't express his views after the match? I ask because the Sunderland manager has been punished after his game against City when he criticised the ref after the match.

Keith Harris - United fans have to boycott games.
"Getting the money together is the easy bit. But we can't make an offer until the Glazers are placed in a position where they are forced to consider it."
I disagree with that. If the money is in place, they should make an offer to the Glazers now. The Glazers know that they are massively unpopular at MU, they'll know that boycotts are possible in the future if they don't sell up, an offer should be made just to see what the Glazer's reaction is.
If the Glazers then dismiss the offer without even discussing it, that is the time to boycott games to force them out. It just seems stupid to jump straight to a boycott without making an offer first. Why have a war if you don't need one?

We've always been dire at transfers, but I think we're slowly getting better. Johnson is one of the worst signings we ever made. Even when he signed I remember people saying 'Why the f-ck have we signed him?' and my next door neighbour didn't even know who he was.

I know what you are saying but lets say the Red Knights only have £1bn to buy out the club and they make that offer but the Glazers tell them to come back with something around the £1.2bn mark but the extra funds arn't available. Now if the fans start to boycot and damage the products value the Glazers may be more willing to accept a lower price for the club just to get rid.

I love the story about Johnsons contract negotiations.
Seth Johnson goes into the boardroom with his agent to discuss his contract, they went in saying "Ask for £20,000, settle for £15,000." So they went in, and they were offered £25,000. "WHAT?" Seth Johnson replied, obviously shocked at how good the deal is. Then Ridsdale replied, "Ok then, £35,000" Thinking Johnson was unhappy at the terms.
I think we got Bosnich on a free transfair

Agree 100% re Lescott and Kompany. Hoefully Toure will not get his place back.
As for the game, I thought we shown a fair bit of ambition. Just that Liverpool defended superbly. They had an excellent defensive shape and they worked extremely hard.
City were much better than they were against Stoke, Portsmouth and Hull.
