Hogan is just trying to hype up the company and create that buzz. He's hardly going to say "Oh we'll go up by 0.2"

A nice target for them to aim for would be 1.8 - 1.9 at that level they would beat the normal Smackdown! rating. TNA got 1.3 when they weren't live and Hogan was on tape at the end.

Being live cuts out spoilers, anything can happen, people who don't normally watch will watch, word of mouth during the show, and people will want to see what Hulk does. The promotion for this show is going to be massive as well.

ECW this week got 0.8, which is really bad. News is that the ECW name won't be used for much longer, and that was before that rating.

there's likely to be a bit of a spike in ratings. mainly due to nostalgia, the wwe have used hogan for such spikes in the past.

I've seen an interview with Hogan where he goes on about how pee'd off Vince is and how TNA are going to go head to head with WWE.

TBH, as this is an RL forum I'll use RL teams in my analogy, that's like Hunslet signing Andy Farrell and saying they're gonna win SL on the strength of that.

At the moment Vince doesn't sweat TNA though I'm sure he's got someone scouting it. But he doesn't see them as a threat.

No TNA Impact on Virgin 1 this past Friday, anyone know why?

It was for a limited period that it was on Virgin 1, from October 30th until December 4th. So iMPACT! is just Saturdays 9pm on Bravo again now, with several replays during the week.

Virgin are reviewing the matter for 2010, so hopefully TNA will be back on Virgin 1 soon.

Oh bollox, that's people without Sky like myself screwed then (was really getting into it too e.g. the Angle v Wolfe fued).

Sheamus is the champ, he will lose to Orton or Kofi [Please let it be Orton! Cena will win the Rumble and go on to face 'Taker at 'Mania in a 'Title vs Streak' Match and will win. This makes little or no sense as Cena does not need this boost to his career.

Also, look for the DX break-up and feud leading up to 'Mania in the coming weeks.

He's awesome, isn't he. I must admit I didn't see any of his TNA stuff and have been very surprised with how well he is able to work since returning.

He puts on the best match across all three shows every week, and TBH he is pretty much working with nobodies who are straight from developmental a lot of the time. He has made guys like Ryder, Swagger and big Zeik look as if they've been around for a good 10 years, and the matches with more experienced guys such as Dreamer, Jericho, Punk, etc that he's had on ECW have been PPV standard.

Like you said, there is no one left for him on ECW, when you look at the roster, he has literally beaten everyone relevant, both face and heel. I read a report a few weeks ago that when Bryan Danielson debuts it will be on ECW, so hopefully that is very soon.
