I get the feeling he might have had other things on his mind the last few days than playing football.

| 10 V 10 now. Very harsh second booking, IMO. Both had there feet up going for the ball, don't even think it was a foul.

| They'd have had to get there by coach and ferry - there's no way you could expect them to be on top of their commentary under such testing circumstances.

| If Glazer's gunna whack out another loan to strengthen the side this summer, I do hope he avoids Ribery.
I just wish we'd tried harder to get Robben before Chelski came in for him.

| Quote ="Lord God Jose Mourinho"Quote ="Robbie Rotten"I wasn't actually thinking about us when mentioning the Inter comment, I just thought it could have held influence on the game. '"
Of course you weren't. I believe you.
The fact that Liverpool were on a longer and even more arduous trek across Europe never crossed your mind when you were saying that Inter had an advantage because of Barca's travelling.
Quote Those kind of games, in order to win them you have to be razor sharp, on your ball for 90 minutes, preparation and tactics have to be spot on, if not, it can be very costly. I felt Uefa could have delayed the game for a week or so, I'm not sure how it is for supporters, but I'm guessing they'll have to drive/train it there, too?'"
The dates for the semi finals were set. If UEFA start altering dates just because air travel isn't available then sides will be putting in appeals for all type of innocuous reasons if a couple of star players are out.
We're in the business end of the season, for most of the sides they are also involved in tight title challenges. Altering games just because air travel isn't available would be out of order IMO. The travelling sides have just got to suck it up and get on with it.
Quote It doesn't help that we had to play on a Monday, either, despite us and Fulham being the only sides left in Europe, you'd think we'd get a Saturday kick off with our extra long drive to Madrid.'"
You've got the advantage of playing at home in the second leg. You'll be happy because of that. Because of an Icelandic volcano Bayern, Inter and Athletico gained an advantage. You're not happy about that, so you want the date of the game changed. UEFA are dead right to say tough 5hit. If you were the home side and Athletico were travelling to Liverpool you wouldn't care less about their inconvenience. You'd want to keep the advantage you've received.
Teams can use adversity to bond themselves together or they can let the adversity be an excuse for their failure. Given the overwhelming vvankfest that's been thrown for Barca, they should have been good enough to shrug off the coach travel.'"
You can make all the accusations you want, when I wrote the comment about Barca, it was purely about Barca, I wasn't hinting at an excuse for Liverpool or thinking about Liverpool when I wrote it, I was thinking about Barca as I felt it was unfair that they'd received a hindrance for such a major game.
This isn't about consistent changing dates, it's just about being a little more flexible during times when something is clearly affecting the competition. How are our supporters supposed to get there? Why can't they just delay the game for a few games for the benefit of our team and supporters? If Atletico had to travel, I'd say exactly the same as I'd want a fair tie and I'd see it as unfair on their supporters and team, because it is. The whole 'home and away' advantage is mythical, what good will having them at home in the second leg be if they beat us 3-0 at their place because we had disruptive match preparations?
You can say all you like about Barca and the vvankfest, maybe the coach travel didn't affect them, maybe it won't affect us, but we'll never know but what we do know is they put in a sub-par performance against Inter. As I already said, these games are hard enough to win alone, without having added obstacles. Atletico, Inter, Hamburg and Bayern won't face such obstacles in a couple of weeks, we'll obviously have to accept it and get on with it, but it isn't 'fair' on the teams or the supporters.

Well then train/coach travel would be needed, but at least the other team would get the same treatment. I wasn't say hold out for X amount of time, just a few extra days, maybe a week or so, it's not like Liverpool have a bad fixture list, but I think it would take some shifting around for Atletico to accommodate it.

He's an awesome player, but he's just not strong enough for the Premier League.
As soon as anyone leaves Chelsea I lose interest in them. The only exception to that is Jose Mourinho and Arjen Robben. I'll be very pleased if they go up against each other in the CL final.

He should've been sent off for the lunge on Gudjohnsen anyway.
He would've got a red card for shoving him like that anyway, no matter whether Robben went down like a big girl like he did or stayed on his feet.
Robben was/is/always will be a diver. But IMO his dives merely redress the balance for all the dirty 8astards who kick the 5hit out of him anyway.
And lastly, he was just emulating the whiny voiced, cheating scumbag Emlyn Hughes. (Type Emlyn Hughes, cheat into the website that shall not be named to see typical scouse behaviour. I'm sure his team mates would have been "having a word." )

All he did was put his hand/glove on his cheek. Didn't lash out or anything towards Robben. Hence why i'll never like him.

Still a red card.
A red card he should've been getting anyway for lunging into the back of Gudjohnsen.

A handball that Reina didn't notice. A handball that the lino didn't notice. A handball that the commentators didn't notice until the replays. A handball that virtually no one watching at the time will have noticed.
Yes, it was a blatant handball. The lino should've spotted it. Free kick to Liverpool and a yellow card to Gudjohnsen should've been the decision. But it wasn't spotted. So then Reina lunges in on an attacker from behind, red card offence. He then raises his hand to the face of Robben, red card offence. Robben blatantly feigns being hurt, yellow card offence.
But the biggest offence is the rank hypocrisy from the scouse filth. Emlyn Hughes was guilty of pretty much the exact same offence 20 years before that. St Steven is one of the biggest divers in the league.
Reina's offence was as soft as Drogba's Moscow slap. No doubt you can see that Drogba deserved to go, but you're ****ing blind to the fact Reina deserved to go as well.

I watched him play live once. He scored an own goal at Leeds Road while playing for Rotherham.
Won't have seen him play very often for the scouse filth, because I was 6 when he left Liverpool. Don't really see why that matters though. He was guilty of the exact offence Robben committed, 20 years before Robben did it. Robben is slagged off by scousers for getting Reina sent off and denigrated as a cheat. No comment about Hughes though from you.

Torres is a scouser. Benitez is a scouser. Jan Molby is a scouser. It's a taint that never washes off.
