Former Swans forward Nick Davis keeps NFL dream alive  DISCARDED Sydney Swans forward Nick Davis is one step closer to his multi-million dollar NFL dream after yesterday attracting interest from the San Diego Chargers at a training camp in Reno.
At a six-hour try-out, Davis impressed scouts at the University of Nevada's football stadium with his punting skills and was approached by several coaches.
Davis is attempting to follow in the footsteps of former AFL stars Ben Graham, Saverio Rocca and Darren Bennett - and if successful, could land a massive contract.
Graham this year signed a two-year contract worth $A2 million after helping the Arizona Cardinals reach the Super Bowl.
Another Australian, Mat McBriar, is believed to be on an annual contract worth about $A3.5 million with the Dallas Cowboys.
Coaches and talent spotters from 15 teams watched scores of NFL aspirants display their skills and Davis won a rare approach from San Diego.
The next step for Davis will be a private workout at the Chargers' ground, possibly next week.
"From my experience, these guys don't give you a card unless they want you to come to their ground," McGillivray said.
Two Melbourne hopefuls joined Davis yesterday at the tryouts - David King, 27 and Steven Baker, 30.
Local Aussie rules player King, a Melbourne sales rep, could become the second Australian to play for the New York Jets, whose scouts rated him the best they had seen on their nationwide talent camp tour.

Thomas is nothing more than a back-up. Especially considering they are more than likely taking Curry in the draft.
Leftwitch is a solid player, i've been a fan of his since his Jags days. He is definately a servicable QB and has a farely decent arm. Hopefully they use him for a season or so and then potentially develop Josh Johnson into starting, who i'm a very big fan of.
Rumours around that Atlanta are trading a second round pick for Tony Gonzales. Also Cleveland have revealed they have received offers of first round picks for Brady Quinn from at least two teams (rumoured to be Detroit and Denver), they have also recieved an offer of a first round pick for Braylon Edwards (rumoured to be the Giants). |

Indeed, and he has signed a two year contract with the Bucs.
He should do a great job for those two seasons why they develop a future franchise QB, personally i really like Josh Johnson but there is talk of them taking Josh Freeman in round one of the draft, unless Sanchez falls.
His only ever injured his ankle in the NFL, just numerous times. He broke it in Jacksonville, injured it again in Jax and did the same thing in Atlanta.

Given time he'd be fine, at Tampa he'll have Bryant and Winslow to throw to and also a very good pick up in Derrick Ward although saying that any running back looked good behind the Giants o-line. |

The Bears ,Vikings and Packers have the easiest 3 schedules because we have 2 games against the 0-16 Lions,otherwise it's no easier than anybody else.I don't take much notice in the strength of schedules anyway as with free agency and the draft a bad team can get good in one offseason. |

Not a bad schedule.
Hopefully we can show the Bears (and Cutler) in the first game that we mean business.
If we can sort our D out in the transition to 3-4 i'm pretty confident we can win the division and maybe get 10/11 wins.
