The Players Championship Finals was on there last year and as far as I know its not being televised this year plus Bravo dissapearing means the European Championship probably will not be shown over here either.

I think experience and dogged determination won the day and fair play to him for that but Deano must be regretting he could not take control whilst Wolfie was on the rack and it will be interesting to see how he responds to that defeat.

On BBC they kept going on bout him not going for the bull for the 164 I think it was when he hit ten to leave double top but, for me, it was on his return and he missed the double with three darts. He didn't win a leg after that and it prob would've won him the title.

I couldn't understand why they were banging on about that either. Surely, when your opponent has no out shot, you're better to have 3 darts at a double, rather than risk hitting 25 or lower and only having 2.

| Darts looks extremely poor on ITV. Be nice if the BBC got the Grand Slam, but to be honest nobody does it better than Sky. I hope that the GS and the World Cup works better than this year. If the World Cup was earlier in the calendar, it'd be very marketable. It's way too close to the Worlds to be considered credible on its own.

Darts on ITV is effectively the same as it is on Sky. Don't know where you've got the idea that it looks poor in your head, because it doesn't. The BDO coverage is a shambles in comparison. I'm not sure if they even have any spotters.

| To be fair, being a spotter in the BDO must be a bit of a thankless task, given the mediocre standard, and often even worse mental arithmetic of some of the players ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif)

The only one who will maybe have an impact is Chisnall. Doubt Woods or Hendo will even get close, apart from making a couple of quid in the Tour events.
Rumour is that Winstanley rejected a tour card after initially wanting to accept one. Phillips, Adams and Dekker refused, Phillips I don't know why, Dekker because he wants to focus on his studies and Adams, well, because he doesn't want to test himself against the best and would rather be a big fish in a small pond in the BDO.
Saying that, something that came through from Alan Warriner Little earlier on:

| So the way I've researched and read it, 16 won tour cards at Q School, 9 from the Q School Order of Merit. There's a 128 player limit for events, so does that mean the top 103 in the world all automatically win tour cards?

It's 101 from PDC Order of Merit automatically win a tour card, 25 from the Q School and the last two go to Stacy Bromberg and Tricia Wright to make the 128.
Then, I think, if there's a shortfall in numbers for a tournament they'll use the Q School Order of Merit to make the numbers up.

His wife was diagnosed with ME last year, so Waites hasn't been able to go full time. And before the diagnosis he needed to pull out of tournaments as it must have been a really worrying time not knowing what was wrong.

Ah right. I hope he's able to do it soon though, it would be a real shame for him not to.

| Grand Slam of Darts to be shown on Sky Sports for the next 3 years.
Great, another tournament that will have the usual Taylor fest in it. ITV's coverage was fantastic, very neutral, and listening to Peter Drury and John Rawling was a refreshing change. Now it's another tournament where I have to make do with John Gwynne and that idiot Waddell.

| There's a good couple of interviews in the latest podcast of The Wrong Bed (a non-affiliated podcast that covers issues and tournaments in both the BDO & the PDC. Available on iTunes and [urlhttp://www.justinirwin.com[/url)
Scott Waites said people (mainly journalists) have been ignoring him since a day or two after his GSOD win, including those at The Lakeside where he was almost alluding to people blanking because they thought he was going to be moving to the PDC.
Mark Walsh also has a good rant about going 2 years without Sky interviewing him despite him being the top player at all the non-TV ('floor')events but Sky will make time for "Red carpet players", which he acknowledges is fair enough in some cases but when those players are being interviewed even when they lose and other players aren't getting any TV exposure after winning it is frustrating

Thanks for the heads up mate, I'll give that a go over the weekend. Sounds like a decent listen that one.
