Nail on head. Brees and Rivers are exceptionally good QB's and will win a championship eventually I'm sure. Wouldn't surprise me if Rivers got his this season.

Anyway. I don't consider Big Ben elite because he just isn't as good as the others. He can pull out a drive, yes, he did it against us, however alot of the time he is just good. He has championships but that doesn't factor in having one of the best D's and a great surrounding cast. Especially this year, they still have a good (top 5) defence, good recievers and good RB's but he for the most part has been average.

Every QB has the ability to produce a game winning drive when it matters. Matt Schaub can, so can others like Rodgers, Rivers, Warner, Eli, Brady, Favre, Manning etc etc.



I agree the most important thing is winning a Championship but that doesn't help decide who is the better QB. I could be the worst QB ever but have the best surrounding cast and win it year on year. It doesn't make me elite. Sure, having a fantastic QB makes it easier, but Favre has 1 ring and is Elite. Marino has none, is 8-10 in the play-offs and is arguably the greatest QB ever.

Along with being able to make plays when it matters most (which all of the guys being considered can) i think you have to be consistent to be elite. Big Ben isn't consistent enough to be Elite IMO. Like Eli, they are good, and usually very good late in the year but they can be poor for weeks and often statistically very average. Players like Peyton are truly elite.

Peyton has the stats and game winning ability. Rodgers has only beaten 1 team with a winning record this season.

I haven't mentioned Rodgers. I was talking about all the QB's. Either way we are where i expected us to be. 10-5 was my pre-season prediction for us and we are on course to get that.

I think Fox will still be in Carolina next season unlike Delhomme. It must be a rather worrying time for Raheem Morris after only one season.

I'm sure i read Delhomme is on a ridiculous amount and a large cap hit next year and they are unlikely to cut him. (I don't know how this affects it if it is uncapped).

Im sure they gave him the massive contract after their playoff loss last year which makes it even weirder to me hes terrible!!
