Apparently Espanyol have been watching Celtic's Aiden McGeady for three months and are set to make an £11million summer bid, according to reports, Newcastle have also been linked with a £12million swoop for McGeady.
Hopefully Celtic will keep hold of Georgios Samaras in the summer if he keeps up his levels of performance which has also proved to be a turn in form for Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink aswell.

We got £9 million for Hutton though, which was a great bit of business considering how well Broadfoot is playing now.

McGeady is shockingly over-rated.

Exactly if he was Brazilian he would be worth about £20m,
£12m is alot of money but if Alan Hutton is worth £9m then Aiden McGeady is worth hell of alot more.

Yes. I want City to sign him for £12 million. I was quite excited when we were linked with him I have to say. Alas, he is too good to end up at somewhere like us when he eventaully does leave Celtic.

McGeady is the pantomine villain now in Scotland. No-one up there can be trusted to judge him by his performances because they can't see past his treachery in deserting Scotland to play for the Irish.

They want him to fall flat on his face and convince themselves that he will.

This season (and I have watched almost all of Celtic's games on Celtic TV) he has been sensational, and what is more, he has, by and large, produced the goods in the Champions League too.

Carles Puyol rated him highly enough to pick him out as a danger prior to the game at the Camp Nou.

Frankly, I'll take his opinion over message board managers any day of the week thanks.

McGeady is over-rated and for anyone to suggest that he could turn it on in any league in Europe is pretty baffling TBH. After all, he is playing against the likes of Alan Maybury FFS!

However, I note with glee that he was completely ineffective against a reserve Arab defender last night.

£12 million? I will state this here right now. If Celtic get offered £12 million for McGeady (which they won't), he would be frogmarched out of Celtic Park in a flash, much the same as Hutton was moved on from Rangers for such a ridiculous fee.

To be honest your history clearly indicates that bitter hatred of anything to do with Celtic and “plastic Paddys” oozes out of every pore, so forgive me for not believing that your judgement is anything other than clouded.

McGeady has frightened quality European teams in Champions League matches. That is a fact. The opponents themselves have said so, and I’m not just talking about rubbing-rag clubs from third rate nations akin to Scotland, I’m talking ones from Spain, Italy and Portugal.

Not seen last night’s game and I wager you haven’t either but it sounded like an abysmal performance from 1 to 11 so to lay the blame on a winger is more than a tad harsh, but it’s an easy thing to do when you are trying to prove an incorrect point.

I am a Manchester City supporter first and foremost. The fact that I would like McGeady to come to City shows that I must rate him for more reasons than wanting to trump him as a great player for Celtic.

McGeady is like the new Michael Owen in so much as the only ones who rate him highly are the fans of the club/country he plays for. £12 million is absurd and, frankly laughable.

And there really is no need for such a comment.
