Even if the Chinese do come in, let's be honest, they are an investment company. They'll be looking to speculate to accumulate, so whilst we may stop looking to sign the likes of Young and Konchesky (:sobsicon_smile.gif we'll not be doing Man City style business.

I know that, my point was that I don't wish for Liverpool to be anything like Man City or Chelsea. I just want Liverpool out of the hands of those two yanks and back to being a profitable club (which it is) without the leveraged debt that they have burdoned the club with. Liverpool doesn't want or need a sugar daddy, it has it's own history and doesn't need to buy one.

Must admit just looked up their squad and those were the only three players I'd heard of.

If they're all fit though they should match anything else in the MLS! Marquez is still good enough to do a job in Europe, as is Henry even if not every week.

I think I'd rather have a sugar daddy than become the slick merchandising operation United have, where they'd sell the steam from Rooneys to make money if they could.

But to compete at the top level these days you have to have one or the other. History is all well and good, and you are right we don't need to buy one or fake support by giving away flags to try and create an atmosphere, but history won't get you trophies.

Anyway, this is a hedge fund that is backing this bid, and they do not spend money they won't get back so I don't expect a major splurge.
