Despite the fact he's a kn*bhead, he actually talks a lot of sense. What he's talked about in that interview is nothing to do with what he's done, it's a completely different topic.
I actually think he comes across as a decent person deep down, he just had a bad upbringing and loses his temper too easily which obviously can't be defended.

If Mike Ashley gave an interview criticising other club chairmen, it wouldn't mtter if he was 100% accurate. You and 95% of the Newcastle supporters would spontaneously combust at the thought that he could dare to criticise other chairmen given the dire job he's done.
It's the same with Barton.

| OK. So I watched the game in the local pub tonight, but I refuse to pay £42 to watch us get nailed. (i think i've earned my stripes as well over the 14 years i've watched latics)
Anyway, I'm not ashamed to support WAFC tonight nor was I ashamed when we lost 70-0 and 75-0 twice within a week
I support my local sides home and away through thick, thin and even thinner as my facebook says.............that tonight was nothing.

| Should be easy to discover which Premiership manager was caught visiting a brothel.
If he paid for an hour but then demanded 68 minutes it's Fergie!
If the girl got undressed but he didn't see it, it's Wenger!
If he didn't pay the VAT it's 'Arry!
If he didn't perform but said it would be better next time, it's Rafa!
If he got it up but it went down quickly, it's McCarthy!
If he paid for the cheapest girl and said it was a bargain, it's Moyes!
If he paid a fortune but left early, it's Hughes!

If you went on the Chelsea site there was 100% certainty it was Avram Grant. I'm sure if you went on an Arsenal site it was Harry Redknapp. Fulham site = Ancelotti, Brum site = O'Neill etc etc etc.

Aye, we could've had a cricket score in the end. Hopefully, Rooney can continue his goalscoring form into the New Year. Chuffed with our performance and the result, but Wigan were poor. I had Rooney first goalscorer and United 4-0 at 25s so Valencia cost me the chance of getting £250.
Now time to roll on Sunday and beat the scum.

| Well, from a football point of view, I have to say I am glad to see the back of this decade. From the Premiership to the bottom half of League Two, I can't imagine there is a team with a worse record than we've had!

| It's been a weird decade. The last one was one in which United dominated domestically, but failed all the time in Europe, until 99. This decade started just after the historic treble year, and there was so much promise in the side that it could continue to dominate for a long time to come. Unfortunately, like in the 90s it took too long for United to rediscover top form in Europe, we had to wait until 08 for a Final, and another victory in Moscow, in 09 unlike in 00 we were able to continue the good form in Europe, and reached another final, before been completely outclassed by Barcelona.
Domestically, we had a very long dry patch (by our own recent standards) where Arsenal were able to win the League, at Old Trafford as well, Wiltord you ba$tard. Then billionnaires attacked the Premier League, and Chelsea under Mourinho began what looked likely to be a long period of dominance, then after a measley League Cup victory, United were able to grab hold of the League again, and win it three years in a row at the end of the decade, just like at the end of the 90s.
It took us years, and many mistakes to replace Schmeichel before VDS popped along, and now at the end of the noughties we are once again looking for a replacement keeper. We signed arguably the best ever Premier League player in Ronaldo, it was an absolute privalege to watch him play, we had a superb goalscorer in van Nistelrooy arrive after many years of trying, and we signed the best young kid this country has produced for a long time, and who can forget [ithat[/i debut. Stam, Beckham, van Nistelrooy and Keane all fell out with Fergie and left the club, it took us a while to get a replacement for Keano, where noones like Djemba-Djemba and Miller had a go. Ryan Giggs became our leading appearance maker, and became the most decorated player this country has seen, now we're left with the task of trying to find his replacement before it's too late. Solskjaer was forced to retire after years of injuries. And there can't be a passage of the decade without mention to the greatest player of all time in Dong, gifting us with his excellence.
Glazer took over and plunged the club into masses of debt, hiking prices up and including the dreaded ACS, which ultimately led to me not renewing my season ticket.
Personal highlights include Real Madrid's original Ronaldo single handedly knocking us out of the Champions League at Old Trafford, although gutting, I felt I had witnessed something special, seeing Cristiano Ronaldo just about single handedly own the Premier League, Wayne Rooney's home debut, the 7-1 victory over Roma and of course [ithat night[/i in Moscow. It was magic.
Heartbreaking moments include Porto knocking us out in the last minute, and seeing Mourinho sprint down the touchline, Wiltord winning the Premier League at Old Trafford and Liverpool bending us over at home last season.
It was a decade that started with so much failed promise, it wilted in the middle, before rising to excellence at the end, leaving the noughties just like we ended the 90s: a team full of promise.
Here's to the next ten years starting with an FA Cup third round tie against a third division Leeds team.

We have just done the complete opposite! although the first few years was tough as was booted out of Boothferry park by David Lloyd and was struggling in division 3 and was always favourites to get promotion in division 3 but always failed badly until Peter Taylor and Pearson came
Since we moved to KC we have been quite successful - back to back promotions in League 2 ( or division 3 back then ) and League 1 03/04 and 04/05, struggled a bit in our first 2 years in the Championship but then one promotion to the PL..

| Most of the bookmakers now have Peter Reid as favourite for the Bolton job. Only Victor Chandler and Coral favour Paul Jewell.
A number have shortened up both Owen Coyle and Darren Ferguson in their lists.

| Quote ="Karlos13"Ronaldo missing Old Trafford:
The Real Madrid fans do not support their team enough when they are playing badly and should try to be as initimidating to visiting teams as the Manchester United supporters, according to forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
'We know that we have the duty to put on a show but sometimes it's not possible,' the Portuguese international, who joined Real from United for a record fee this year, told Wednesday's Marca sports daily.
'We always try but at times the team are not playing well and the fans could give us more support,' he added.
'The Manchester United fans, for example, were very intimidating for Liverpool or Manchester City in those matches. I think that if our supporters tried to do that it would be much better for everyone and would give the players a big boost.'
'"
The atmosphere at OT is generally flat (by English standards). Last night, despite an exciting performance (albeit against a weak and inept Wigan team) there was no atmosphere. Not a patch on the old days or other clubs.

I thought this job was tailor made for Curbishley to get back into football, I really did. Similar club in size to Charlton, has experience in getting a side to be a sort of 'solid, mid table' side. Decent chairman in Gartside etc after what happened to him at West Ham would appeal.
I'm surprised really he doesn't appear to be in the frame, he was England material in some folks eyes not so long ago.
I'd take him over Reid or Jewell any day.

Would think him a pretty uninspiring appointment to be honest, but that might possibly because I'm firmly in the Coyle camp.
