| Quote ="WireFanatic II"Yep, unsuprisingly the brain child of those morons Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara, who played the character "Oklahoma". Wasn't so much the get up that was sick, or repeating the same word 3/4 times that Ross does, it was the fact that they made a mockery of his Bells Palsy, and everytime the camera cut to Ferrara, it showed him talking with only one side of his face.'"
Well yeah. JR was one of the guys behind the scenes calling Russo & Ferrara's shock tactic tv ideas stupid (that's probably the strongest word the profanity filter will allow) and because of his position and the respect he had behind the scenes from the wrestlers, most people agreed with him. So when they went to WCW they used it as a platform to get even. Even if it offended most of the fans and wrestlers. What do Russo & Ferrara care about the fans when they've axes to grind. The pair of them were a disgrace to wrestling.

| I'm sorry, just to confirm - was Bret Hart trying to convey he was 'angry' on Raw last night? By pulling a few wires out of a pyro system and falling on his ar$e in the process?

Vince V Bret Hart at Wrestlemania will be cringeworthy.

Screw the PG Rating thing, he should have just put a gun to Vince's head, the Rattlesnake did.

| I had a job interview in an undertaker's the other day. didn't get the job.
apparantly it's frowned on to give a grieving widow a tombstone piledriver

Yeah the Butlins Arena apparantly, was just surprised with Skegness been a fairly small seaside town. Cool though, + only 90 mins away I think.

| The whole Bret Hart return thingy has been cringeworthy from start to finish IMO. Is it just the fact that I've grown out of it, or are there no characters in it that get anywhere near rivalling The Rock or Stone Cold for charisma?

WWE has plenty of great characters throughout the card. Obviously, the Rock and Austin were the best and it's only natural to compare the likes of Punk and Cena to these. And to be fair to the current crop, they've all been watered down heavily from what they'd like. Unlike the Attitude era, the shows are now targeted towards kids.

| It would have made sense for the WWE to try and keep an older audience by using ECW as an independant body. No cross overs, no linked PPVs.
Let them do what ECW used to do and go kiddie friendly on the main shows.

| Well Danny I know loyalty is to be respected in RL, but personally feel I made the right choice picking All-Star over Wigan last night!
Had a good time at City Hall, real old-school feel when you go to an All-Star show (hard to believe now in their 40th year! ). Five matches on a show which ran about 2 1/2 hours (inc 15 min interval), highlight of the night was a fantastic tag-team match between Robbie Dynamite and Bad News Brown versus Deano (I think originally called Dean Extreme) and another guy who's name escapes me. Plenty of fast-paced wrestling, and some good spots, the babyfaces going over in a well-received match.
Only disappointment was no Tatanka (not sure why) and to be honest this remains my only real gripe with the British scene - so often you get guys not appearing who are advertised! Now having experienced this many times over the years I was kinda expecting it (or at least thinking that I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't show), but a lot of kids last night will have turned up expecting him to be there along with Val Venis (who was also on the posters).
However I'm sure there will often be circumstances out of the promoters' control, and like I said was still a good show. They return to Hull in October, and if All-Star are in anyone's area I'd definitely recommend checking them out for a night of traditional wrestling entertainment. (my mates took advantage of a 2-for-1 ticket offer meaning £6 each to get in! ).

Yeah, like I said though it's been happening for years mate (not that that excuses it obviously). Venis I'm assuming wasn't there as he's now with TNA, Tatanka I've no idea, they didn't explain or anything. Like I said though if you can pick up a coupon to get two tickets for £12 you really can't go wrong, and with All-Star you're nearly always guaranteed at least one really good match, i.e. with them been the biggest/longest-running promotion in Europe.
