True or not, i made this point on another message board. You only have to look at Portsmouth's recent troubles for a bad example of how to chase the impossible dream. Sunderland are £70million in debt and still continue to spend wedges of cash and for what? To finish 12th?

We've had a friendly today against Atletico, we got beat 2-1. We played very well but we lost Carra early on to injury, which meant we were playing two teenagers in defence for the majority of the game. Hopefully Carra and Agger will be fit for Spurs on Sunday, otherwise we're fooked.

Looks like City will have a good start to the season next week as Rovers finished pre season losing 2-0 to Dundee Utd with Nelsen and Samba picking up injuries.I usually don't read much into pre season but this year Rovers have been awful in nearly every game.

Apparent news that Espanyol defender, Daniel Jarque, has been found dead in his hotel room. Not sure what the cause of death was, but what a shame, he played against us just weeks ago.

First Puerta, then de la Red fainted last year and is out all of this year, now Daniel Jarque.
Such a shame, he was close to moving to Spurs a few seasons back as well, I think. |

He was on the phone to his bird when it happened awful, players are pushed to the edge of breaking point to get max fitness more heart testing needs to be done imo. |

To make the circumstances even more tragic, his girlfriend was 8 months pregnant as well.
Terrible to see someone my own age die in this way. Like other people have pointed out with the almost identical case of Antonio Puerta, as you say something needs to be done.
Looks like Espanyol may name their new stadium after him, which would be a fitting and lasting tribute. |
