| Quote ="Mugwump"Naz beat not far from a dozen past and future champions. He'd have been a lot closer to Barrera if he'd been a) in his prime (about the time of the fight against Robinson) and b) hadn't stopped training in the three weeks leading up to the fight,'"
There was a resume of Naz's career in [iEsquire[/i magazine a few weeks back, including contributions from the Ingles and Frank Warren. Talking of the Barrera fight, or rather the build up to it, the picture they painted was of a man who had surrounded himself by yes men, massaging his ego 24/7. Diuring a Channel Four documentary, Naz's entourage drove pass Barrera's camp—a shanty on top of some hills—whilst his brother bragged that Hamed was training—or rather, not training—in plush, grade A facilities. Priority problems there methinks.
It's still a disappointment that Naz never really returned (bar the half-hearted comeback), especially as Barrera went onto become a bona fide legend. It was also interesting to hear that Paul Malignaggi wants to emulate Naz. He was also mentioned in some regard by HBO's commentators during one of the fights on the Woods/Tarver undercard.

The very same,he fancies his chances too seeing as its supposed to be a warm for De La Hoya. But i doubt he will be taken lightly.Inkin has pulled out of next weeks fight with Froch and the WBC have made him mandatory challenger whoever he fights next week.Look out Joe!!

DLH faded late on in the Mayweather fight and tired against Forbes too. I doubt he can boil down to welterweight whilst maintaining his endurance nevermind increasing it.

| Khan – Gomez announced
Just a name now really Gomez, was/is one of my favourite boxers and one I had the pleasure of watching at Oldham Sports centre in his prime. The opening rounds of his fight against Johanneson showed what he was capable of but he tired badly after four and the fitter man finished him off.
Looks like Khan won’t be taking Prince Nas’ record with Warren opting for the easier route for his cash cow.

Exactly, did the same thing with Hatton until the Kosta fight. Gomez is past it thesedays which is a shame because I use to love watching him fight. Fingers crossed a potential shock happens and Khan and Warren get what they both deserve.

Lost his last three Gomez, is just a name these days, tires early and will suit a fighter like Khan.

Totally agree, with Kahns far superior fitness and stamina I would expect to see Gomez knocked out in spectacular style.

| I'd like to say I was upset to see Junior Witter get put on his booty and be soundly beaten...
...but I'd be lying.
Thought Timothy Bradley did a good number on him and I was astonished that one judge saw Witter winning it 115-112. I had Bradley 4 rounds up and I thought that was being kind at times to Witter aswell.
Anyway, onto the main man in that division and just hoping he can shake off this chest infection and not let it have any bearing on what happens in the fight whatsoever. 55,000 fans or not, if he's not 100% right he shouldn't even be thinking of stepping into the ring.
Thankfully, all the noises coming out at the moment seem to suggest that everything will be fine come fight night.

| Bradley outworked and in my view easily out pointed Witter without the knockdown. When it came to a split decision I thought Bradley was going to get robbed.
Witter offered nothing against Bradley and proved yet again that he is just a counter puncher.
Bradley had a decent tash too.
Looking forward to the Hatton fight (if it goes through), not sure what time I’ll be arriving there yet. What time are doors/ first fight? Think Hatton will be on around 10.

Not sure about the first fight as the Card is quite big, but Jamie Moore (8 round fight) starts at around 5.30pm. Malignaggi v N'Dou starts at 8.45pm and Hatton's ringwalk is at 9.40pm, so you're about right. The night will end at 11pm at the latest.
Hatton's got a chest infection at the moment btw, so there are doubts about the fight, although it's expected to go ahead.

| Ive just read the full statement about why Scott Harrison hasnt got his licence back, whether he will try again is anyones guess.I liked watching his fights but he's blown it big time,he's still waiting for his trials in Scotland and Spain to finish, plus im sure he's being done for drink driving too.Better news for another of my favourites is Kevin Mitchell's first fight in America supporting Gary Locketts title fight v Pavlik, maybe he's getting his feet under the table before Mr Khan??
