| When was the last time Lancs scored that many in a full match, never mind two innings?!
We're in a great position now for tomorrow... Let's skittle the b*stards.

| Not sure why Lancs waited so long to declare, I'd have come off as soon as the last bonus point was reached (shocking captaincy from McGrath helping you along the way with that).
Hopefully it will rain, but the disinterested bunch supposedly representing Yorkshire don't deserve to be saved, everytime I have seen them this season they've looked half-assed, and it was particularly galling to hear Lancashire fans saying the same things about us as we toiled.

| Bit better today - good knocks this morning from Gale (second 50 of the game) and Rudolph.
Usual dismal failure from the skipper yesterday, surprise surprise.
Let's just get relegation confirmed so we can start hacking away the dead wood.

| Reporting in from the Long Room at Old Trafford. This is grim. Yorkshire couldn't have done the decent thing and rolled over, could they? Gits.

| Shame about so much play being lost at Old Trafford, our plan was obviously to set Lancashire a target and watch their frail batting crumble under the barrage of our numerous England international bowlers

| Durham's title anyway, even if they go on a shocking run.
The rest are just keeping away from 8th.

Ahem, as much as I hate to add years on, don't be counting that shared nonsense. We bloody don't.
Dull, dull, dull. The moaning from the Long Room was above normal standards, and that's saying something for in there. Mind you, having the Test Match on in the bar behind didn't help matters on that front.

| Another excellent one day performance from Lancs last night with Kyle Hogg, Stephen Parry and Tom Smith all impressing, good signs for the future...and with the weather being like it is it could be enough to get us top spot in the 2nd Division already!!
And in the Kent v Middlesex game thats started today, there's been 4 run outs out of the 12 wickets to fall so far what the frig's going on???

| As I predicted in work, Yorkshire managed to show us once again how to throw away the game last night. It was a bit tighter than normal, but Bresnan running the wrong way towards the ball in the final over ensured Hampshire got home in the end.

That was the second time he'd done it in the match - the first time led IMO to the ball being changed, and by the second time it had discoloured so badly again the fielders were all having trouble picking it out (see also Gale's dropped catch).
Thought Rudolph panicked in the last ten overs, didn't have the confidence to bowl Wainwright out who had been excellent and got left with 3 unused overs.
On the plus side the young players like Gale, Lyth, Wainwright and Rashid showed some real guts for the fight against probably the best one day side in the country at the minute. Particularly enjoyed Lyth giving the fans behind him plenty back after the run out.
Still, good to see the soon to be ex captain finding the time to have a laugh and a joke on the balcony while the game was slipping away...

At least one shining light, finally we're racking up scores and not relying on the bowlers to save our skins.

| Lancs declare at 568/5, with a lead of 231, and also annoys Hampshire who miss out on a bonus point....saying that, the 130 over cut off happened long ago
Come on Lancs, two sessions to skittle them, and Durham will start getting worried I tells thee!

| I hzad an excellent day at the May's Bounty ground at Basingstoke for Hants v Yorks today.
I was there as a neutral, the weather was lovely, and after an overcast start (I'm not certain who won the toss), Hants made a good start but then collapsed in the face of dogged Yorks bowling with Ajmal Shazad the pick of the attack with four wickets. Matthew Hoggard took an unbelievable caught & bowled to remove Sean Ervine.
The run rate was never above three an over yet Yorks maintained attacking fields throughout with plenty of slips and no third man. It was good hard cricket, compelling to watch, the whole outcome of a four day contest already building in fascinating fashion with just a quarter of it having elapsed so far - the total opposite to what excites the limited-overs vulgarians.

| Excellent day at Old Trafford yesterday with Keedy getting a well-deserved 6 fer and Parry and new man Lungley sharing the other 4...after the start we had as well we were fearing the worst...just need to bat as we have been doing recently and we could put pressure on the Georides...shame it rained most of the evening and overnight to freshen the pitch up a bit for their bowlers.

Could whoever stole the Yorkshire squad and replaced them with more effective doppelgangers please not return them until at least October.
Thanks in advance.
Yorkshire 74-0 in reply to 250 all out.

| Beware of GT. He is on the warpath after Mallender gave 5 lbw's to Blackwell at OT today.
First time I've heard the crowd getting stuck into an umpire for a while though.
