Fella, Dirk Kuyt is high in the ratings so I won't even bother to consider them.
TBH many of the stats used in football mean very little (apart from goals scored and conceded, of course). For example, we once played West Brom and had something like 12 corners, with several shots on target and off target. We co,mpletely dominated possession and the ball must have been in their half for 80% of the game. They didn't have a shot on or off target, and they didn't even win a corner. West Brom won 1-0 because of an own-goal.

I don't know you, so I don't if your football bias strecthes across all footballing topics. What I do know, is that where "Robbie" is concerned, nobody can tell you anything.
He's a World Class Winger, and suggestions that Ribery & Young are better than him 'As left Wingers' are laughable. (Even when the stats tell you otherwise)
Ashley Young has over 20 assists in the last season & a half, not bad eh. Think about how good he'll be when he learns any tricks. Wowsa.

Part of my job involves me analysing statistics. I am fully aware of what stats can and cannot do. The best way to looks at stats is to acknowledge their limitations.

| I suppose scoring more than half of yr goals in home games against Portsmouth, Stoke and Hull is classed as shining in the big games isnt it??
And against the 2 best teams in the league at home? Erm, 0 goals...how did that happen if he's saving himself for the big games??

Examples of bias:
1. Michael Johnson to become the mainstay of England's central midfield for a decade.
2. Micah Richards to displace Gary Neville as England's right back as he is already better than him.
3. Joe Hart to become England's long term goalkeeper.

Erm, Ronnie scored against Meelan in the 2007 semi-final and was one of the stand out performers that night? Granted his performance in the second leg was poor, but so was the rest of the team and Milan deserved the win.
He also scored in arguable the biggest game we've played Chelsea in (Champions League final).

No. I have an opinion, and will stand by it. As I stated yesterday - on this thread - I have a view / opinion, call it what you want, but I am not stating it as a fact / truth. Please concentrate.
What do you want, a debate on epistemology?
Quote He's a World Class Winger, and suggestions that Ribery & Young are better than him 'As left Wingers' are laughable. (Even when the stats tell you otherwise)'"
Robihno is a better winger, and overall a better footballer. Ashjley Young is better than Robihno at crossing but then Robbie is a far, far, far better passer of the ball, which more than makes up for this. RE all other abilities: Robson is better.
Quote Ashley Young has over 20 assists in the last season & a half, not bad eh. Think about how good he'll be when he learns any tricks. Wowsa.'"
Rather than quote the stats at me, please advise me of the methodology, otherwise the stats mean nothing. What is an assist? Does an assist also not not depend on the skill of the player receiving the ball? Does this include own goals? Are the figures subject to QA? What QA do they use? What are the discrepancies between the stats produced by this organisation and the figures produced by another firm?
I refuse to debate the validity of statistic or set of statistics with someone who is not intelligent enough to keep up.

If only he was as good as Ben Foster and Heaton (worst international goalkeeper ever to wear an international shirt?).
Joe Hart will become England's klong-term goalkeeper. I am convinced. Capello rates his very highly, as does Sven. He just needs a bit of experience as his weaknesses are those that are the kind of things that only expereinced GKs have - strong communication and organisational skills, and dimination of the box and 1-on-1 situations. Behind James, he's the best English keeper.

James has been awful lately. Green has looked much better in recent weeks, coincidentally coming during West Ham's good run.
I'd probably say that Hart is the best English keeper ATM, not that it is anything amazing to shout about when Scott Carson is around and getting selected.

It's a bad situation really, you look at the 90's when Seaman was No'1, we had Martyn, Flowers, Walker etc. Plenty of decent options.
James isn't an International Number 1, he's their by default really, that's no fault of his own mind, Robert Green looks to be the next best. I'd laso say when I watched Blackburn against Stoke, I think it was early in Big Sams reign, they won 3-0 but got battered, Robinson looked to be getting back some form, I noticed Big Sam bigging him the other day too.
Hart will have a problem now, he'll face Ben Foster syndrome, it's hard not playing. Ben Foster looked to be destined to be England No'1 when at Watford, but not playing is a big problem, and Hart is behind arguably the best keeper in The Premiership. He needs to do a Tim Howard, and go somewhere for regular first team football.
