Looking at the forecast for the next few days there won't be much play in the Roses match.

A mopping up operation took place all morning at Old Trafford as the groundstaff battled to prepare the ground for today's Twenty20 Cup quarter-final, but the Manchester area was hit by a thunderstorm at around 8.30am this morning, leaving further pools of water scattered across the outfield and covers.

A second storm fell at 10.45am, and further rain has forced this game to be abandoned.

The bowl out will take place at 1.15pm, and we will cover proceedings online at that time.[/i

Lancs lost

Got to Old Trafford just as that storm began, I mean literally just stepped off the tram and it began to pour. Just got back home, with soaked jeans half way up my lower leg because of it.

Can't understand why Laxman was one of the bowlers used by Lancs, surely the main bowlers should be confident enough to run up and hit the stumps!! Somerset used 'proper' bowlers and they hit at least once each

Was on Northants from the start and they should really have lost tonight so hopefully their name is on the cup. Playing in the earlier semi they should have an advantage if they can get past Sussex.

Absolutely shambolic, but not unexpected.

Have decided against going today due to the forecast, wouldn't be that surprised to see a result tomorrow though if the weather behaves.

Lancs may force one, or at least try to. Can see us declaring at 400 and have a day trying to skittle Yorks again.

Still, the weather has probably settled this, but for once Lancs look set for maximum batting points, finally!
