| What a performance by Chicharito. Could be a season changing result. I thoughr City were outstanding despite the scoreline looking like a dicking.

That header was sublime. We looked very dangerous on the break in the first half but sat back way too much in the second half.

Second half was a poor display. We could not hold onto the ball in midfield. That is an area we need to strengthen for me. Replace Scholes with a Xavi like player (easier said than done).

| not tooo dissapointed about ysterday tbh. The sending off was the correct descion we was alwaysgoing to struggle. We were better team until about the 60th minute IMO then we ran out of steam. Though Fabregas and Nasri were awesome for nal they deserved the win but im poud be a city fan after yesterday. Anybody who says the players are just in it for the mone should watch that game yesterday everyone of the players was good (well apart from barry) Yaya Toure is going to be immense when hes fully fit and Ballotelli showed touches of class when he came on. Silva s getting bette and better with every game too. Think Aresnal are deffo in the race now. All of the top 4 have got a chance at the title i think

Considering that Dalglish hasn't been involved in front line football for years then yes, if it's true, I would say the writing is on the wall for Roy. Dalglish was a sublime footballer and, as is often forgotten, won the league title with two different clubs. He's forgotten more about football than we'll ever know. However he's been out of the picture for ages. Whilst it would be sensible to gauge his views, if he is trusted more than Hodgson with respect to player recruitment, it's a massive indictment on the affable Liverpool manager.

Maybe a sign that they will do things like American clubs do, and the coach is a coach not a manager.

I don't see how someone who has spent a large part of the last ten years trundling round golf courses can get Liverpool out of the mess they're in.

Think he has been out of the picture by choice, I think he thought he was done with management.

Were you watching a different game to me? You played OK but were never the better side IMO and I think you lacked any real width to truly trouble a pretty ordinary Arsenal defence.
And I personally didnt see anything from Balotelli at all in his 15-20 minutes. Not that that's a criticism due to him hardly playing any football for the best part of 6 months. Tevez put in a manful shift though despite his injury.
Good win for Nited too and 2 classic strikers goals from Ole Gunnar Hernandez. How Gary Neville managed to avoid getting sent off is another matter. Woeful refereeing considering the other yellow cards he was doling out for both sides.

When you're down to 10 men, width is the first thing that goes.
Putting Balotelli on rather than Johnson was a touch strange. Playing 4-3-2 against an Arsenal side playing 4-5-1 guarantees them possesion. Either Mancini was just hoping that Balotelli would have a dream debut or he'd decided that at 0-2 the game was lost and he might as well give him a run out.
I dont think we'll see much from Balotelli for a few months. Its difficult enough for a foreign striker to adapt to the premiership at that start of the season after a good pre season. Even more so after a long injury lay off. Mancini has taken two months to ease Silva into the premiership, cant see him rushing Balotelli.

He may well have still been keeping up to date with the game, players etc, being able to spot talent is not a skill that goes out of date.
I wouldn't have him anywhere near the managers job though, as you say, he's been out of the game in that respect far too long.

| Awful scenes as Salamanca player has a heart attack on the pitch at the weekend. Thankfully the lad was resucitated on the pitch and taken to hospital. Doctors don't think he'll be safe to play again.

Bloody hell. To the paramedics, got out there immediately and got him through the fight. I see they doubt he will play again, but that pales into insignificance. Hope he makes a full recovery and goes on to lead a long and happy life.

Yeah it looked awful on the video. Brilliant effort by all the medical team concerned. Well done to the player who cleared the area around him as well. He clearly wasn't first aid trained so did the right thing and got the lad some privacy and gave the medics room to work. Wouldn't surprise me if he's also picked up some sort of jaw injury as he hit the ground with a fair whack.

| How come Wayne Rooney isnt on the ballon d'or shortlist? Im sure if you listened to RLFANS armchair fans they would have you believe he's as good as Leo Messi? At least thats what has been written in the football threads
And how come there are only 2 players from the worlds best league? (Gyan doesnt count as he wasnt playing in the worlds best league during the period that this award is supposed to be for)

Did anyone actually say that? He's not on the ballon d'Or list because he hasn't been good enough, clearly. Still doesn't mean Rooney is as good or better than some on the list. Right now the best striker in European and one of the best in the world is Eto'o, he's in great form but he's not in it because it's this season's form.

Do you really think those seven Spanish players would've have been in it if they hadn't won the WC? an award like this coming at the back end of a World Cup year will always be dominated by World Cup winners.
