Any player without a club will be 'close' to going wherever, I thought Chamakh was close to coming to us, I thought Ballack was going United, Berbatov to Citeh, etc. All that matters is he signed with us, if money was the decider, then so what? Most players in the world sign for clubs on the basis of money.

Unlike last season, we should a natural goalscorer up front in Boselli and Alcaraz's world cup performance shows he is more than good enough to replace Bramble. Modern football must drive you crazy then if you can't accept players' doing what is in their best interest when deals are being made.

I'd say for the majority it's the agents doing what's best for themselves and the player they represent rather than the actual player.

Not really. I gave up following football seriously years ago.

I've grown to accept it, it's the way of sports and Spurs can offer 'more' in terms of football than us, so I can't blame him for looking at other clubs. Who's to say we'd made an offer for Cole by then, or we'd properly negotiated with him? If Spurs were the best available (in Cole's view) then, then he would obviously be interested in going there.

Pretty much every player in football that receives multiple offers will be close to going to one club or the other, it's the nature of the sport now and getting upset over it is pretty sad.

Don't think there's anything at all they could day about the taking of the pen. He took it in one fluid motion and simply played it with his left foot rather than smashing it with his right. Beautiful technique and a great pen.
