Anyway, I'd clarify that I don't actually think that 99% of people would think that, but a very high % would talk smack like that. But the fact is, Keys and Gray probably spend half their time talking smack about everyone in the game off mic. On camera they'll say neutral things about a player because Sky would fire them if they started offending players en masse, but off camera they'll be wondering how the player has managed to steal a living. Their view on refs will be universally bad. Nobody likes refs and they are a target for abuse throughout football.

Just as an aside, how far will this whole 'females in football' actually go??.....How long before we have a talented girl demanding to play in a male professional side and taking the whole thing to court?

We've already had cases at junior level, which have caused upset and which the media have latched onto, so imagine the furore if/when it happens at adult professional level?

I imagine, legally, a court would side with the lady?.....

Collymore has been talking about the exact thing on Talksport tonight and i do think that the time will come when a talented female footballer will want to play in the mens game. But if that was allowed to happen and a precident was set what would stop a lesser tallented male player wanting to move into the female side of the game?

Selection as part of a team sport like soccer is, always has been and always will be subjective and providing there's no obvious gender discrimination, as "well you're good love but you're a bird", then any action would probably fail.

Individual performances are more able to be measured objectively, so sports like golf or horse racing would be on a sticky wicket

Thats the thing. If you remove sex as a barrier to sport once, you have to do it twice. It would kill the female version of the game. They can't have it both ways.

There will eventually as you mention be a freak female footballer who could easily play professionally in the man's game and deserve it. Like you say, what happens then? I can imagine the world falling off it's axis.

It'll be interesting to see what Sky do. Rodney Marsh was sacked by them for making a tasteless joke about Newcastle United and the tsunami, rather than slagging off a match official.

I suspect that there will be some double standards, Keys and Gray will apologise on air and in person, and they will be able to carry on farting around with squares of astroturf, shouting MNF and fiddling with a glorified air hockey table.

Chelsea seem to be cruising against Bolton, seems they're out of that bad spell of form and could put alot of good performances and posistive results behind them now.

You're probably right, which is all the more reason why they should never be seen and heard on television again. That pair have been stealing a living for many years, especially Keys, who has never contributed anything useful to the game as far as I am aware.

Imagine if the assistant with the flag had been an Asian man and they'd come out with a load of crap about Asians not understanding football, should stick to cricket or hockey etc.? They'd already be out of a job by now, and I don't really see any difference with slagging off Sian Massey. She must be bloody good to get on the Premiership list at the age of 25. She will have refereed semi-pro non-league matches for several seasons, been marked by club officials at every match, been assessed regularly by retired former top level referees, and will have achieved significantly higher marks and assessments than her peers at each level as she makes her way up the ladder, as well as running the line at Football League level; she hasn't just been thrown into the Premiership at random because someone thinks we should have a few female officals.

Most of all it was the sheer arrogance and lack of humour in Keys' voice that sickened me. He's always irritated me and I regard him as pretty much unemployable after that. What a creep.
