| I'm glad Ashley Cole plays for CFC. I think he's a good player. But TBH I really don't see the player who pundits describe as the best LB in the world either.
He's not as bad as Wayne "so one footed I need to go round in circles all the time" Bridge, but he is far too one footed than he should be. And he gets way too bunny-eyed when he gets in the oppo area.

| I think Cole is world-class too. Baines had a chance to impress for England in a friendly before South Africa and blew it. Whether it was right or wrong that he got left behind after one bad performance is another matter, but that's the way it was.

Patrice Evra is better.

| Is Nasri better than Fabregas? I think yes, I can see the french team being built around him for the next 5-7 years. Almost unplayable at the moment.

I just don't see what he does exceptionally well and to be the best in the world you have to stand out. I can't remember the last time he did anything for England other than look fairly solid.
I can't think off the top of my head about which players are better but he does not stand out to me like he did maybe a few years ago.'"
Agree that he is slightly on the wane now, but he has been superb for a long time, I don't think the standard of defenders generally is that high at the moment and he has every right to be thought of as right up there.

I agree. Fullbacks in particular are in short supply with an all-round game. Far too many of them have their defensive deficiencies overlooked in favour of their attacking qualities. Most talk of Cole, Evra, Ramos, Alves, and Maicon as the best in the world (and rightly so IMO), but in all honesty I don't think they are fit to black Cafu and Maldini's boots. It's what the compact midfield has done to the fullback role. Even domestically, the dominant Man Utd side of the 90s had fullbacks (Parker/Neville and Irwin) that were more well-rounded than the current crop. In 10-15 years the fullback role (along with the linked decline in the number of 'proper' wingers) has probably changed more than any other position.

| 7 minutes of injury time at Stamford Bridge? Thought this only happened at Old Trafford?
Interesting to see another training ground bust up at city. No doubt this didn't actually happen and it was all set up by the anti city press.

Of course it didnt happen. City players are only in it for the money and would never get worked up enough to have a bust up.

A proper overreaction to that by Mr Terry wasn't it. Having a hissy fit at Tim Cahill who would destroy him if it came to fisty cuffs, then picking on Seamus Coleman for no reason at all. The incident only happened because Terry pushed Cahill over in the first place making him kick Cech in the face rather than the ball.

There really was nothing in it though, it was a ball Cahill had every right to go for and at worst clipped Cech and Terry completely overreacted. Cahill held his hand up straight away and yet Terry for some reason wanted to have a go He does really fancy himself there.

"At worst clipped Cech".
He clipped Cech's face with his studs.
"Cahill held his hand up straight away"
He held up his hand straight away to shove it into Terry's chest.
I don't know what JT said to Cahill when they were getting up. Neither do you.
I don't think Cahill did much wrong. He was following the ball in, JT was angling his run to cover Cech slightly. It seemed that collision between JT and Cahill unbalanced Cahill slightly and that caused him to accidentally clip Cech.
But I don't think JT did anything wrong either. He's just seen another player make contact with his keeper's head in another nothing challenge and is rightfully backing up his team mate. If Howard had been hurt in a similar challenge and one of your CBs had remonstrated with the player there'd have been absolutely no issue.
It's just because it's JT that you scouse divs are making a fuss over it.

I'm not making any fuss over it and I don't know anyone that has, there's not fuss to be made it was a nothing incident but it was just the discussion that was most recent on here. But what the fook you are talking about saying Cahill held his hand to shove it into Terry's chest well you're clearly just making things up that didn't happen until after Terry had a go. Cahill clips Cech and puts his hand up knowing he had then Terry comes over and has a go. I don't know what Terry said but I never claimed I did.

The two are actually best mates who were seen laughing and joking together after the incident. Something which fails to make the press because it's not as newsworthy. The same way that training ground spats only get reported at one place because it's fashionable for us to be perceived as being an unhappy club.
Interesting to see you can't help but talk about us again though.
