| Yeah good call mugwump!
Made me proud to be British last night, a tremendous turnaround and superb win from Froch who has the lot IMO... power, a great chin, the heart of a lion, stamina. Maybe lacking a bit on the defensive side but a worthy World Champion in my eyes.
Think he would give Calzaghe all sorts of problems and I reckon Joe has known that for some time which is why it will never happen.
Bring on the Hitman now and his demolition of Manny..

We're talking about proper boxing here pal, not a street brawl on Ramsey Street.
I'm getting more confident the more I see of Hatton but I felt like this against Mayweather so I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much. I keep reverting back in mind to the fact that Hatton has been unstoppable at 140 and if he goes in at his usual 148/149 I can see him being too strong for Pacman as long as he can deal with his speed.

The early rounds are the danger for Hatton, I think. If he can get to grips with Manny's speed early doors, I fancy him in the later rounds. Manny won't have faced anyone as relentless as Hatton.

2 ways this fight could go:-
1) Calzaghe tip-taps his way to yet another points victory and Froch suffers no worse effects than being in a pillow fight.
2) Froch connects at some point with a decent punch and then Calzaghe is legacy is ruined - permanently...
Personally, I don't think Calzaghe has the balls...

Exactly, Froch would have more than a punchers chance in this fight IMO, and if he connects with one of those loaded right hands it could be lights out. Far too much for Calzaghe to risk, and he's known it ever since Froch started calling him out.
By the way, I think it's criminal how little press coverage the Froch fight has got over here, it's only boxing fans that even know the fight was happening. I think he's up there with Hatton and Haye for excitement value, and is our only current world champion.

| A Froch - Calzaghe fight would be exciting, but in the end Froch wouldn't be able to cope with Calzaghe's hand speed, and supirior work-rate for 12 rounds, Calzaghe would win a wide UD IMO.

The only top p4p fighter Pacquiao has faced in the last few years has been Marquez, and he got a lucky decsion.
Pac won't be as hard to catch as Mayweather was, and certeinly won't be harder to hit.

| I thought I read that Froch had been offered a fight with Calzaghe but turned it down ? Anyway Froch has nothing that can be of interest to Calzaghe so Froch should stop whining and get on with being a deserved World Champion.

Nope, theres plenty. He has serious technical flaws, especially in defense. But he has superb punch resistance, a huge heart, and is willing to go anywhere on Earth to fight the best fighters and give the fans the fights they want to see. He could become a breath of fresh for boxing. I hope he goes far.

You are to me, He is quite possibly my favourite fighter around at the minute, Although not technically great he has a very good chin and a huge heart his fight with Jean Pascal was a classic...

| Junior Witter will fight to regain the WBC LWW title after Tim Bradley was stripped for fighting Kendal Holt instead of his mandatory challenger.
Personnally I think "Captain Charisma" should retire, or at the very least change his style. He's too old for that Brendan Ingle style.

That would be a fair assessment if the fight followed that path.
However, if Calzaghe gets caught like he did against Jones or Kessler, then he wouldn't be let out of trouble cos Froch punches considerably harder than either of them (even though the vast majority of boxing fans would not rate Froch anywhere near as good as either).

I understand what your saying, but the more footage I see in the build up to the fight, the more convinced I am that Roach's confidence and belief in his fighter is eroding.
I even think it's quite possible that Hatton cleans him out inside of 4 rounds.
As I've said before, I think most people are seriously underating and overseeing Floyd Snr's influence in a really big way - Floyd Jnr owes all his success to what his Father tought him. Add Ricky Hatton's physical strength and punching power then I think this could be his time...

| Quote ="Eurob0y"Am I the only person who doesnt rate Froch one bit?'" No, and I can see why people don't rate him, but I (like the poster above) think he is a great fighter to watch, if not a great fighter. How people can keep knocking him though, when he's been out of his way to make a name for himself, put his career on the line and come out with a last minute knock out to retain his world title on foreign soil is beyond me. The man has the heart of a lion, hits harder than anyone else in his division and has a granite chin.
He's always winding up a big punch which can change a fight, and his style is exciting, if not defensivley sound. Remember he's only been knocked down once in his career now, and he was hardly wobbly from that.
I do however agree that his defensive technique will be his downfall one day, hopefully not for a while though.

| Interesting interview at the end of the Froch fight. Basically he claimed that he could have stopped it in the 6th but as it was his first main exposure fight to the US audience he dragged it out.
My initial thoughts were "No you never sunshine".
To be honest the billing ITV gave it was over the top. It was an ordinary fight with a great last 2-3 rounds.

Oh dear - if Witter gets another world title he'll be back in the media calling out Hatton again.
Stick to mid-carders Junior old son, they're your level.

Lol, as if he'd risk it. Taylor already proved that he could floor Froch.

| The closer it gets to the fight the more I think Hatton. But I thought that in 2007 v Mayweather. Then Hatton looked nervous going into the fight and he'll be the same on Sat probably.

| Seems to be a common theme going here. Pacman at the start, now we are knocking on the door of the big night the Hatton backers are growing in numbers. I'm in the same boat. Hatton looks in fantastic shape.
Is it just me who thinks, even if he does win, he shouldn't really be the P4P number 1?
