| [size=150So the U.S Open has just started...[/size
Enjoying it so far, Woods carried on with his good form from the Memorial and hit some great shots. If(massive if) he can shoot level par the rest of the tourny he will win by a few....
This is the toughest course most of the players will ever play in their career, some of the holes are ridiculously hard(I'v played them on WGT so I should know ) the fairways are narrow and have a lot of overhanging trees making it even harder to hit them, most of the fairways slope towards the rough in opposite direction to the hole shapes! Even if they hit the fairways they still have tough shots into the greens because the slopes are huge. The 16th hole is 670 yards long and is shaped like a boomerang but with the trees its impossible to cut the corners.
I know I say this every year but no-one will finish under par this year IMO, think only 3/4 players have ever finished under par after 4 rounds in a U.S Open here! If it pishes it down and softens the greens they could but still don't see it.
I'm gonna predict a winning score of +2 and stick with Donald or Westwood despite the poor starts, they have to win a major sometime(probably when I don't tip them)
Nice to see Blubba Watson back to his best aswell

| I'm sticking with Westwood and a +2 winning score, would be nice to see G Mac win another though such a laid back bloke its untrue!
What odds on 3 Northern Irish winners in a row?

| Lee's in contention, but his history in Majors on the last day, is weaker than a vicar's handshake.
Hope by the time I wake-up tomorrow morning, I'm proved wrong.

| That mist rolling in (NO, I'm not trying to be Paul McCartney) is going to be a great leveller.
Glad to see a certain man named after an endangered species, is making a stones of it!

Very much doubt it, I think it will be gone by the time the leaders go out, if not just after.
Looking forward to this, not a fan of courses where the most under par wins, prefer ones like this where the best all round player/the one who makes the least mistakes wins, gonna have a few becks and enjoy this until 3.30

What did he do, LFCPR?
Pity about Paddy Harrington. Would have been a nice few sheckles to pick up. Still get my stake money back.
Just seen his 18th hole. ARRRGGGGHHHHH

| Bacically during the trophy presentation, he got inbetween the camera and Webb Simpson and the interviewer and started making loud bird noises before security could get him out of the way
This is from the side but he was directly in the way at one point.
EDIT: Video>>> [url=http://t.co/YJPiI5f6Was an odd thing to see at 4 in the morning half asleep and slightly pished [/url

| More than a bit p1553d off with Paddy Harrington, today.
Had (what I call) a Scott Hoch Sunday....ALL the leaderboard were shooting mid - to late 60's, and Paddy choses to shoot in the 70's, just like Hoch used to do, in his "pomp" on a Sunday.
Still wouldn't rule him out of being "there or there abouts" at Royal Lytham, tho. He's getting himself on leaderboards again. Quite a healthy situation to be in

| Tiger wins for the 3rd time this year with a final score of -8 at Congressional. He was very good today bar 1 hole. Luckily Bo Van Pelt was equally as bad on the same hole. This win also moves Tiger to 2nd on the all time wins list, 1 ahead of Jack and now 8 behind Sam Snead. He's not fully back yet but every win will give him more confidence that he can make it.

| #### a duck, McDowell. That was almost capitulation, around the turn.
Fair enough, he got a few bad breaks, early on, BUT, THAT shot into the trees was horrific.
Was hoping to be picking up £200 tomorrow. Now I'm getting jumpy for his e/w place

Feeling p1553d off that McDowell played staggeringly bad, but got my e/w bet in

| Ernie kept his cool while everyone else panicked. Simple. Looks like the course was a bit of a beast today though
Apparently bookies were offering 1/50 on Scott with an hour to go, while Els was something like 600+/1.

| It was an epic choke from Adam Scott but without the great round from the big easy there wouldn't have been as much pressure and I reckon Scott would have finished better with less pressure on him.
Gotta love E.Els, he looked genuinely shocked that he didn't have to go into a play-off and proved that he's a classy guy with his post round interviews
I had to laugh at the stupid muppet from the BBC who interviewed Scott straight after the round when she said "that run of 3 bogeys didnt help at all did it?" What a f$%in dumbass
If I was Adam Scott I'd have walked off!
Classic BBC...

Oh, this.
Whenever there's an interview in these circumstances, I cringe. Surely, they must ask decent questions, without the need to state the bleedin' obvious.
Loved the bit on Saturday mornings coverage, when Faldo called that reporter a "BBC muppet"....classic.

Started this thread on the golf section ( viewtopic.php? ... 1359322314 ) but ill post the same post here too....
Is anyone watching the Farmers?
It's been like vintage Tiger this weekend. The way he's controlling his short irons has been amazing! He is currently -15 through 14 holes of Round 3. Nick Watney is 2nd at -9.
