You finished second but you were clearly the third best team.
Your owners probably never had the spending power to make the push from 3rd to 1st, but they definitely don't in these financial times.

How much of the sponsorship money do you think they'll give Benitez?
20 million a year over four years. Will he still be at Anfield in four years time?

It will go to pay the debt (£1.5M every 9 days) can't see him being here in 18 months nevermind 4 years.
Something has been said about 20M for players each season but it never happen this season not matter what Christian Purslow says

Ok. Which would you choose -
1. Finishing second in the league.
or
2. Finishing 3rd in the league, but that low finish was down to a poor manager, who was replaced. Winning the FA Cup. Knocking the 2nd place team out of the CL. Deserving a CL final place, but robbed by an inept (or corrupt) ref.
You'd take 2. Everyone would. Chelsea are better than Liverpool. Chelsea were better than Liverpool last season. FACHT.

Scouse, you cannot be a Wire fan as you have only won one trophy in about 30 years. A Wire fan would have said 'trophy'. How do you think you will do in the play-offs?
Buy any player you want? Can I assume you "don't want" Greg Inglis and Israel Folau?
As for the Quins, my local team is actually Skolars. So you are clueless when it comes to both football AND rugby league.

I do apologise, my geographical knowledge must be on par with yours i.e Warrington/Liverpool. We have won other trophies in the past 30 years and we're not in the playoffs sadly, which I thought you would have known. We couldn't sign Inglis or Folau at the moment as we'd breach the cap. It's the same with Glazer.
Pi$$es me off how some people actually like him, they take the three League titles and European Cup win as acceptance for the c*nt, whilst totally ignoring the debt, price rises etc.

City small? Nah, they're massive.
If you listen to most United fans / Fergie etc, we aren't scared of you in terms of challenging for the League this year, which I'm sure you'll agree. With regards to Sunday, it's a Derby, one game, anything can happen, I mean you managed to beat us with Benjani up front last year, which is proof enough.
I'm happy Adebayor isn't playing due to the fact that he's a good finisher / always seems to do well against us, him not playing significantly weakens your strike force, which should in theory benefit us.

I think a lot of our fans care, I just think they accept that there is little they can do to force these owners out. They are billionaires, they've just refinanced the loan deal and they're signing club record shirt sponsorship deals, why oh why would they wanna leave because thousands of people on the other side of the pond aren't happy?
If they ran us into the ground like Ashley has with Newcastle, then they'd probably want out, but we finished second last year, the market is gradually getting better and we've just tied down numerous players and members of staff to long term deals, they have a project for this club and unless somebody comes in with mega-money, it's unlikely they will sell up.

You cannot sign them because they wouldn't join you until they are 30+ and injury-prone. They wouldn't have heard of Wire.

In terms of the league, I certainly wouldn't worry about us just yet. However, the increasing regularity of Ferguson's rantings about us, indicate that he does regard us as more of a threat.
There was a game last year in which he was offside 9 times in one half of football, and gave away 5 free-kicks when challenging for the ball in the same 45mins. And he did it while smiling like a Cheshire Cat. I cannot tell you what went through my mind. I'd probably be arrested.
I think United's fans views of City are changing though. How long since United fans were genuinely happy that City were missing first team players? Normally, they would just think they would win whatever side we put out.
Quote I'm happy Adebayor isn't playing due to the fact that he's a good finisher / always seems to do well against us, him not playing significantly weakens your strike force, which should in theory benefit us.'"
I'm not fussed about missing Tevez. I would much rather have Adebayor and RSC fit to play.
As for teh game, I just cannot see us retaining possession in United's half on Sunday. I expect a parking of the bus and looking for a goal on the break or through a set pieces. If United were missing Rooney and Berbatov, I would feel very confident.

Well they've revealed plans to build a stadium, they've tied the manager down to a five year contract, they obviously have plans to take the club forward, we don't agree with their methods and the way they've loaded their debts onto the club, but I doubt they'd invest so much money to ruin the club, they obviously have plans, it's just the lies and BS they keep spouting to the media that gets me.
I understand what you mean about leaflets, my dad said he took one at the Stoke game but the majority didn't care too much. It's sad but I still believe there's a large majority who do care, they've either accepted that Hicks and Gillett are in it for the long haul, or they just don't show their anger in a similar way to SoS.
I want the Americans out more than anybody, but they've been here two years and after the bull in late 2007, little seems to have happened in terms of getting them out. Money talks and until somebody comes in with a stupendous offer or they can't pay off the loans, these cowboys will be here for years to come. I doubt any problems will happen with the loans, though, especially after hearing Gillett's comments about the club never being in a stronger financial position. If so, why is Rafa still having to sell to buy?
