Liverpool's motivation is massively higher than Arsenal's. Arsenal have played twice since Liverpool played last week.
Best I hope for is a draw, but I don't even think Arsenal will come away with that.

I stated back in September that I think you'd win the league, hopefully I'm totally wrong.'"
If for instance we were on the same points and games, then I would be confident. But, and it's a big but, those possible extra 4 points at this stage of this season is a big buffer. Don't forget we are talking about teams who rarely lose points so for Liverpool to win all their games and Man U drop enough points is a big ask. We've turned the goal difference around which is a plus point as this season that could be very important.
Man U going through to the semis (Champs League) and us going out may help in that, and yes, I'd rather be in the semis as well, but we'll only know if we've benefitted by going out when the season is over.
I'm not saying it's not possible or we can't, but to say I'm confident of winning the League is a misconception, I'm not.
Remember back many months ago at the start of the season, all I wanted out of Liverpool this season was for them to challenge for the title, something we haven't done for a long time. This season we have and no matter what happens now we have done that and become serious challengers and most people recognise that. I'm a realist and to expect Liverpool to win the league this season was not being realistic. To be quietly confident they would do better is not the same.
I think we've bridged the gap this season between us and Man U and Chelsea and now is the time to add one or two top quality players to the squad instead of quantity. But, as we've seen with Keane, and yourselves with Berbatov to an extent, that's still no guarantee that the team will improve.

Liverpool are certainly the team in form and if it weren't for a 7 game brainfart would probably be close to wrapping it up, the strange thing for us is which I'm sure most United on here will agree with is that we haven't really played well, that may sound wierd but even when we went on the clean sheet streak we weren't blowing teams away, I just hope that our really good form starts now.

The goal difference is potentially significant. If that were still in United's favour then feasibly they could afford to draw 2, win the rest, and clinch it. As it is United's margin for error (assuming Liverpool win their remaining games) is only 1 match. United still have to play Arsenal and city at home and travel to Boro and Hull who are absolutely desperate.

The only thing I would disagree with is that I actually think Liverpool will win the title. Looking at Utd's games there are a few tricky ones and I think we will drop points, if Liverpool win all their games I fancy them to be champions. Whether or not they will is another matter but they have a great chance of beating Arsenal tonight with them playing at the weekend and having their two main stirkers out.
Utd is all honesty must be wondering how the hell they are top of the PL as we have hardly played well all season. Yeah we had a run of clean sheets but we were still stuttering our way to wins.

| Absolutely no ******* way can Liverpool win the title. No ******* way!
If they did, then I'd have to promote Man Utd into a trio of hatred. At the moment it's a duo of Liverpool and Arsenal, but if Man United give the title away to the scousers then those ***** will join them as well.
I'm just thankful that the scousers won't win the title.
There's also no way that Liverpool have truly bridged the gap between them and us and Man U. Man United are a pale shadow of where they were and we've had two new managers this season. Scolari gutlessly gave Liverpool the 6 points which have cost us so much. Add on the fact that Liverpool have benefitted massively from oppo red cards and late winners and the true picture should be them lagging well behind again. Congratulations on them being in the chase for so long this year, but they'll win nowt this year and next season normal service will resume and they'll be well behind again.

The question that reamins about Moyes is can he manage at a club where he will have money to spend, expectation is much higher and he has big players with big ego's to handle etc. He is being touted around as Fergie's successor but he will be in a new enviroment and only then would we know if he is capable or not.

Yeah he is a good manager but i dont necessarily think he would be a better manager if he was at a club with millions to spend, i think he is the type of manager that finds bargains and occasionally spends a bit if there is a player he really wants and uses his youth team to his advantage

I wasn't saying Newcastle deserve to stay up and Stoke don't, I just hate Stoke and I don't want them in the league, although they deserve to be in the league, I just hate their football. I don't mind Newcastle and I'd like them to stay up, if they go down they'll deserve it, though.

Fair enough - although it's not as if any of the teams down amongst the dead men play particularly attractive football. At least Stoke are effective.

That was a panic buy i said that from day one. Not a bad player but i rate him at half of that. That is my point though, I'm not sure Moyes is great with money, his better purchases have always been the bargain buys ala Cahill, Arteta and Howard to an extent. The better managers always get the best out of players thus increasing their value.

| £15 million for a 21 year old who has had an impressive first season in the PL could well turn out to be a good bit of business though.
Dont forget the likes of Lescott (£4-5M), Baines (£5M), Pienaar (£2M) and Jagielka (£4M) who have all been important in Everton's success so far this season...as for Arteta - I think he could well be the steal of the century at just £2M.

Can't see it mate. Nothing to play for in the league for Arsenal unless they think they can still nick 3rd. Hope I'm wrong though.
