Bolt seems to be unbeatable.

I was expecting good things from the Frenchman after only finishing .002 of a second behind Blake and running faster than Bolt in the semis but he was nowhere near in the final.

Bolt was jogging in the heats, no seriously, he jogged.

That wasn't jogging. He wasn't running anywhere near is hardest because he didn't have to but he wasn't jogging.

That last 50 was jogging, he got so far in front he didn't have to put the effort in

The lane draw couldn't have helped him, very tall guy for the inside lane.

He was f---ing moonwalking

I don't ever think I've seen Bolt go all out 100% effort for the whole race. The 200m he won easily and wasn't sprinting his fastest after the bend. He said he could feel pressure in his back and so eased off and just did enough. It would appear as though time is slowly destroying his body, but I'd absolutely love to see him get completely in shape and give his all to a world record attempt in both disciplines, without the drama of competition and playing up to the cameras.

Most impressive performance of the Olympics for me? David Rudisha in the 800m. Wow, just wow. Insane stamina there, the poor guy in second trying to keep up with him was a picture as his technique left him and he finished resembling a young bird attempting flight for the first time rather than an athlete.

Didn't the guy who finished last in the 800m run a faster time than the previous 3 GM winners?

Amazing race. The standard of this Olypic games at times has been outstanding.

think with the sailing and boxing we have another six or seven guaranteed medals. we could also get medals in the 5000m, 4 x 400 mens relay, bmx, canoe sprints and womens hockey. could well end up with 60 plus medals - even pushing towards 70.

as for golds, well 30 is not too far off

Think I heard that too - it was our runner, Osagie. 4 of the finalists had PBs too, trying to keep up with Rudisha.

I was bemoaning the lack of the devastating "kick" on the bend that Seb Coe used to do in the 800/1500, but Rudisha didn't need it. He maintained a constant fast pace all the way. Awesome stuff.

Good scrap, again. Campbell probably needs to tighten his defence to win it - he got a bit loose in the third.

Campbell will fight Nevin who made easy work of the Cuban favourite. I wish I could be there for that, the atmosphere will be electric.

Disaster for GB at the BMX track, largely thanks to our bandwagon-jumping, spam-faced Prime Minister doing his Jonah act again. Reade got a poor start and was never in contention in the women's final. Phillips got away well and was in third before being muscled out of it and falling hard.

bolt is the man. The guys just taken it to a whole new level.

Loved his antics before and after the race. Mouthing ''im GONNA WIN'' to the camera beforehand. The guy brings the sport to a mass audience, i think he's been fantastic for the sport.

Still strange rules in Tae kwan do, that you an lose and then go back into the competition for bronze but those fighters who have done better than you but lose in the next rounds cannot.
