| Think I'll have a couple of quid on Antigua Sunrise at York, usually does well for me. In the footy I have a South Korea, Argies and England treble. Will probably dip back in with a couple of scorecast bets later on.

| Would love to see a big run from General Eliott in the 2.40 at York but in truth the Tom Tate horse Distant Memories will take all the beating.

| On the football, the bet of the weekend for me could well be Slovenia at 5/4 to beat Algeria.

| Struggling to be inspired by much racing-wise today but played England -50pts at 10/11 in the RL.

Sorry if it's a personal question but how much do you generally put on the handicaps? Unless I can double or treble them up I tend to give them a miss as I feel they generally don't provide much value for money, in RL anyways. The NFL handicaps market is an absolute dream if you keep up with the game. Boylesport in particular seem to run a couple of hours behind the news and have provided me with some very profitable Sunday evenings.

I only really bet on three sports ... Racing and Football for small stakes and for the interest (unless I'm actually there and then this increases) and RL for bigger stakes as that is my perceived area of some expertise. The size of the bet on a RL handicap will generally vary between £55 and £165 depending on my confidence in the bet. I have been known to go to between £200 - £250 occasionally.
I understand the theory of putting these in doubles and trebles for better value and do occasionally do that but in truth I tend in the main to stick to singles (especially on televised games).

Fair enough. I don't really have the spare money to place bets of that size. Hence why I punt low and treble up.

Apparently, he suffered a shooting pain in his leg and stopped riding the horse out.

All building up for Ascot now

| Couple of nice ones there Wanderer!
Can't believe Jerry O' Dwyer and his lame excuse not a good week for him at all and a jockey I wouldn't have a penny of my money riding on!
Really looking forward to Royal Ascot next week, already got a nice little e/w double in 2 of the big Handicaps and both have shortened since. Got Stoic in the Royal Hunt Cup at 25's and is now a best priced 14's, happy that Noseda has had a couple of decent winners these last few days and the stable coming back into form, he does well with types like this and the piece of form where it beat the potentially top class Alainmaar looks very good, Moore is booked in too which is another bonus... the other is Roger Charlton's Genki in the Wokingham, it actually finished last in the race last year but reckon it will take all the beating this year, got that one at 11/1 and is now a best priced 9's.
Looking forward to the rematch of Canford Cliffs and Makfi and must admit at being a bit surprised at the current odds of the two?
The Queen Anne also promises to be an absolute belter!
Hoping that Northern Dare can boost my Ascot betting funds tomorrow at Donny, a wide open race but fancy this one to run a good un.

I'm in the camp that believes he mistook the 1/2 furlong marker for the post. He's probably got away with it on the basis that he would almost certainly only have finished second anyway.

Cheers. Only had two bets ... Victoire De Lyphar and England (-50pts) to beat France in the RL so a pretty decent day. Swerved the other horse in the end as by the time I put that race on the TV it had been backed from 5/1 into 3/1. Suppose I still should have played but I thought that the value had gone.

| Done Cheveton again at 20/1 with PP
Got a decent draw here, abit of rain will help as well as its best runs have been on ground with abit of give, racing post have it as good with good to soft in places, down in its OR to 92 plus Carson takes 3lbs off so its going to be lower then its last win and alot lower then it best RPR run of 104 which was off an OR of 95.

| Just for fun I'm putting a pound a day on a double/treble depending on the number of games, the aim was to use my winnings to increase my stakes as the days went by.
Winnings so far = £0.00!
Today I've gone for Slovenia and Algeria to draw, with wins later for Serbia and Germany, a whole £10.30 could be mine!
