Really enjoyed the tournament and signs of hope the likes of Caven and Jones can mix it on TV at last and that Terry Jenkins and Colin Lloyd have perhaps been written off too soon.

Have to agree, some may moan about Sky,but the sports presentation is always quality.

Whitlock hadn't even dropped a leg until he met Priestley. That's good work by the Menace. Legend!

Superb stuff. Dennis has gone out in early rounds of too many majors lately.

At last! Been waiting for that for a long time, rarely listened before as it meant logging into PDC TV to listen to it.

Think the prices for the first weekend are a bit OTT (Ā£10 up on last year) especially with 4 women and 2 Under 21's there it could see some very one sided games but hopefully going the first Sat Night and then Wednesday and Thursday nights too but I fear the quality of the early stages will not be good.

Could be some good close matches amongst that lot. Is Anderson's shoulder sorted?

Yeah Anderson has been doing ok in the Championship League Darts although his finishing has been awful and cost him when he had loads of chances to beat Alan Tabern in one of the daily finals.
The double in format in Dublin looks made for Whitlock and this could be his best chance of securing a first big title.

| Why are all these muppets booing Phil Taylor? Without him the game would still be played in a crappy nightclub in the middle of nowhere, and they wouldnt be sat there getting smashed

He's beaten many good players in his career, he's not the first to fail to overcome Taylor. You can't underestimate how good Taylor is. Lewis' beaten Taylor on the floor but he's struggled on the tv. He played superb tonight, he hit 180s for fun and took out ton plus finishes, he put pressure on Taylor and kept up until the last dart.
Quote ="LFCRhino"Shame he will get beat instead of winning a big title(but he beat Taylor so.......)........
'"
Did you watch the darts tonight? post match? That's exactly the attitude they didn't have, both Bristow and Rod Harrington made the point he's beaten Taylor, that's it, tonight it's fantastic result for him but it doesn't mean he'll lift the trophy tomorrow he has to get back up there and do it again. He's got every chance of beating Wade tomorrow as Wade has of beating him (although I backed Wade at the beginning of the week so I hope he wins). I don't really get the point your was trying to make.

| Just so used to seeing people who beat Taylor(doesnt happen very often granted) seem to think/have the mindset that they have won the title by beating him and then slip up in the next game, I hope he goes on to win but it seems to take a lot out of players mentally and physically beating a player like Taylor IMO

True but to be fair to Lewis I don't think he is one of those people, I don't think many of the pros are now. They want to beat Taylor but they know, unless it's a final, their job isn't done. It does seem to take a lot out of them and it's not too surprising considering how good he is and how much he's dominated. I just hope Wade wins it and gives me a nice few quid.

They were like that in both games though, Wade had it too. Pathetic, it's not hard to keep order while they throw.

They aren't playing in front of 5 people and a dog anymore, they are playing to packed houses who have been paying out of the for Magners all day. It's part of the game now and they love the money they've pocketed through these people so they can't have it both ways

There's a difference between creating a good atmosphere and deliberately trying to put players off, the crowd in Dublin have been the latter. They wanted Taylor and Wade to miss hence why they'd boo and shout when they were throwing and held order while the other player threw. I go to the world championships, the Premier League in the Echo Arena and Blackpool every year, the atmosphere is good and good banter it seemed different at times this week.
