It is not just the Champions League though Sky honestly tend to forget what happened before the Premiership far too often....unless its patronising the likes of Burnley and playing on their 33 years out of the "Top Flight".

I think they're always going to push such things as they've been a massive factor in the rise of the english game and the premier league in general, just gald Liverpool didn't win the league as te celebrations would still be on SSN.

I agree r.e Clough and Paisley. both great managers and fantastic achivements at the time as their were much more dominant teams around then, by that I mean the likes of Bayern and Ajax who created a bit of a dynasty.

It's ok, that sort of attitude just drives the neutrals into the opposition corner.

Seems a bit of a kick in the teeth for Burnley, if true. They've barely had chance to enjoy their promotion. The only attraction can be money, surely. As I've said before, the SPL is the most boring two-horse event known to man, and that includes the Boat Race.

Sensible selection, the inclusion of Park and Anderson should allow United to chase Barcelona down and keep them under pressure, if they don't do this and Xavi and Iniesta have time on the ball they could do a load of damage.

To be honest, if Burnley hadn't gone up I'd have fancied him as Bolton's next manager. Ex-player and living not too far away.

If you can't see them staying up if he goes, realistically what do you think they'll do if he stays? IMO it'll be massively hard for Burnley in the Premier League, whether he's there or not. If Burnley are relegation candidates during the whole season then he'll just be a struggling Premier League manager and his stock will fall. Right now he's just won promotion with an unfashionable side and can bask in that. If he could add to that by winning the Scottish league title then he's made massive steps towards becoming a top manager.

I'm reminded a little of Glen Hoddle taking Swindon up and then taking over at Chelsea. Hoddle went on to manage England while Swindon went straight back down. Would Hoddle have been helped by scrapping to keep Swindon in the PL? I don't think so.
