| Quote ="GCM1980"I think Thorne would have put that header away towards the end that Conlon skied. I like the look of Brown, very busy and enthusiastic. Topp was a real disappointment yesterday, struggled to play a pass to a team mate all game, but he wasn't the only one. Unfortunately for him, his first performance has set the standard that he'll be judged by!'"
Agree with that about Conlon's chance, Thorne would have certainly worked the keeper!
Topp struggled to get into the game yesterday, he didn't have much space because Bury had clearly done their homework on him, and we didn't win the midfield battle. I know Evans hasn't been great recently, but I think a midfield including Daley, Penford and Nix is far too lightweight at this level - and I'm surprised we've gone with that for the last couple of games, because McCall seemed to have realised we need to be more physical in there.

| Well it's definitely season over after this afternoons result.
I have to say I think McCall cost us the chance of victory with his subs today (with some defensive howlers causing the defeat), we were getting on top in the middle of the second half, and Topp and Thorne were our best players - he obviously decided to make a change because the goal wasn't coming but once Topp went off our threat dried up, and that was compounded by removing Thorne later on.
Still on that learning curve.

I think we have a real chance of atleast finishing in the top 6 next year aslong as we make a few good signings in the summer which im sure we will so lets keep our fingers crossed ![PRAY icon_razz.gifRAY:](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//eusa_pray.gif)

I'm beginning to wonder if he will learn from his mistakes though, as he's still making them.
Wonder how much Rochdale would take for that lad Perkins in midfield (the one with the blonde hair? He was running the show, plays at left back as well apparently.

Weren't Rotherham in admin a couple of years back? I seem to remember a 10 point deduction?
If so, is the board now the board who were in charge before the last CVA?

| yes, we started last year with a 10 point deduction which ultimatly relegated us. They arent the same board as last time. I honestly feel the club will fold ![Sad icon_sad.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_sad.gif)

I think it's probably the right time for him to go, but I think some of his knockers will get a rude awakening when he is replaced with a 4th division central defender and see just how much better than them he still is.
He's done a hell of a lot for the club, through the administrations etc, and I'm glad to see he'll be sticking around.

| Fantastic new season ticket deal for City next season. £150 an adult ticket and the first 9000 get another free. Bit concerned about the logistics of such an offer but I'll leave them to worry about that
All we need now is a win against Rotherham tonight and a glimmer of hope re-appears for the playoffs (especially as the contenders either have tough fixtures or are playing each other). Still a long shot but I can dream ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)

It's not quite that - from what I heard on the radio earlier the free tickets only kick in if we match the total sold for this season, otherwise people would just club together for one and get the other free, if we don't reach that level (which was about 9k adults IIRC) then the free offer won't happen.
It's a good offer but I doubt we'll hit those levels again, then again I didn't think we'd sell anything like 12k in total for this year, despite the reduction, so what do I know?!

Indeed. It's a marvellous marketing idea by Rhodes and whilst we rarely hear him speak to the public, whenever he does it seems to be with some great news like this! part-time work commitments unfortuantely restricted me from a season ticket this year, but when I go to University in September a free season ticket from my mate might be jus the leaving present I'd need!

Not such a long shot in all realms of possibility. Win our games in hand and we'll be 6 off the play-offs. And of course, that situation would improve even more tonight with a win. I'd like to see Thorne play 90 though, as far as I'm concerned he's the most intelligent player in this league. He also seems to have his goal-scoring boots on now, since hes had a good run in the team.

Amazing what a win can do isn't it. Those above us aren't in the best form. If we can get some home form together again. We're well in with a shot.
Hopefully Rhodes will start tonight, and I'd be tempted to leave Willy on the bench for a while too. I think he's best served as an impact player tonight with the amount of games he's had and his calf problems.

| Good win tonight against a decent team, with the pace of Colbeck, Daley and Rhodes in the side we can do some damage, and so it proved.
We sat back too much and invited them onto us in the second half, but that always happens with a two goal lead and I'm just glad we didn't throw points away at the end again.
Those defeats against Bury and Rochdale are now much more annoying than they were at the time!

Daley looks really good up the middle you know, he terrorises more bullish, bigger-framed CM's this league tends to provide.

| Having pace through the middle and down the wings makes a huge difference. I like Nix, he's decent, but we're so much better when we have so much pace in the side.
Daley looks much happier down the middle, especially as he doesn't have the responsibility of helping his full back.

| The thing with Daley is he likes receiving the ball into his feet, rather than running onto it, playing off the striker allows him to get the ball like that - and no defender is going to be too keen to have him running at them.
I was going to post about the Rotherham strikers shocking open goal miss at 2-0, but then Peter Thorne (of all people) managed to surpass it at the end - when he missed that I was convinced Rotherham were about to go upfield and equalise!

I was informed Thorney was offside when he 'missed' spectacularly!
Thank God it didn't really matter in hindsight!

| I've now seen something even more shocking than those misses - apparently we are set to [url=http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/rotherham/Bantams-set-to-turn-the.3814132.jpmake a profit[/url this year.
As for play-offs, my mate has just pointed out that if Rotherham do go into admin, the way things stand with them minus 10 we's actually just be 7 points off the play-offs with 2 games in hand on Chesterfield!
I don't want Rotherham to go into admin though, and that scenario panning out is a little far fetched!

Truly abysmal, and why anyone lets that donkey Conlon take penalties I don't know - even the ones he has scored have been unconvincing.
