| Quote ="Dita's Slot Meter"Suarez is running away with the Player of the Year award at the moment - He is single handedly steering Liverpool away from having a mediocre season and actually keeping them in contention for a top 6 finish, which should be nigh on impossible when you see the players that Suarez has to work with.
However, Liverpool really don't help themselves when you read Jamie Carragher coming out with stuff that suggests they are a credible top 4 finisher....I'm not saying it is impossible, but at this point in time, Carragher would be better off just letting their performances do the talking, instead of building up the hopes of the often, overly optimistic kopites, which usually just leads to disappointment and the usual harking back to the good old days.
Rodgers is doing an okay job at the moment and his biggest enemy is expectation, so Carragher building up that expectation is not ideal.'"
Not for me, Cazorla is my player of the season so far.

Another player driving his side to great heights. How Arsenal can even be within touching distance of powerful clubs like West Brom and Everton is amazing.

Kenny Morgans, one of the munich survivors has died
www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYsaU4h1z6E
I know it was a different era, and relatively close to the end of war when people just got on with it, but looking back its ridiculous how people like him and Harry Gregg played within days of the crash.

Aside from Spurs away a week on Wednesday, we have a good run of fixtures from now till Janurary, every game is winnable, hopefully we can kick on and go on a good run, having said that we're still unbeaten in the last seven PL games, which can only fill us with confidence.'"
It is up for grabs, and its not impossible that Liverpool could seriously challenge for it, but I don't think its helpful to Brendan Rodgers or Liverpool to have Carragher whipping the fans into an over expectant frenzy.
A couple of months of understated improvement and keeping a lid on things would be a better idea than building the locals up, only for another false dawn come Christmas......Liverpool have had many false dawns over the years and its one of the main reasons for their managers being put under unrealistic pressure and finding the job such a difficult and almost impossible one.

Fair enough. I'd agree with that.
Lucas is rumoured to be playing for us on Thursday in the Europa League after 12 weeks out.

| Carragher hasn't got much time left. In the time he has, he wants his team to get as high as they possibly can.
I do think that most at Liverpool are downplaying their chances so that even when they do worse than they did last year, they are still going to claim it as a good achievement from Rodgers.
Personally I think it's better that everyone aims high and pushes themselves to achieve as much as possible. If Rodgers can't cope with that pressure then he should never have taken that job.

| I always think that player of the year talk tends to overlook the 'unfashionable' players. Not saying that Suarez and Cazorla aren't 2 of the lead contenders, but if you're looking for the relative influence of players on their team there should also be mentions for Long, Nolan, Michu, and Berbatov, and Fellaini is possibly the front runner at this moment in time.

| I think Robin van persie would be up there for player of the season as well, done it in CL as well and in my opinion is a better player than Suarez, although Suarez isn't far behind, the thing that seperates them is that RVP doesn't need as many chances to score.

Didn't watch (why on earth would anyone have done that?), but would be interested to know for how long the ball was on the floor.

For the eighth best team in England, LFC do get a good share of decent results against the big boys. The year we / they finished second to Man U (2009?), it was the string of draws against mid-table and worse teams that cost us / them the league.

United took 58 points from 60 against the bottom 10 teams that season. Just proves the saying that there's more than one way to skin a cat

| I see young Raheem is being led astray by the bad influences in the Liverpool dressing room. Quizzed by Police on suspicion of assaulting a woman. Tut, tut, tut.
He really does need to get out of Liverpool and into a club where the manager can manage the person as well as the player.

Let's be honest, Roman doesn't want him there anyway - Last season's Champions League win was the worst thing that could happen for Abramovich, who wanted a nice big name managing his mercenaries, and not some two-bob assistant coach.
It will be interesting how quickly Roman swings the axe....Will he do it quickly enough to save their domestic season and also to scramble their way into the next stages of the Champions League?
Its a shame for DiMatteo, but the fluke could only last for so long. It was inevitable he'd be shown up for what he is, once he had to actually coach a side to play football and not just park the bus and defend your way to trophies.

It depends on whether the decision to go into the season with Torres and Sturridge was Di Matteo's or one made for him. If Di Matteo made the decision to back Torres then he pretty much deserves to lose his job over it. If the decision wasn't his, then whoever made that decisions needs to stop making any football decisions.
Personally I think as long as we are strong in the PL then Di Matteo's job should be safe. We've been awful in the CL this season and deserve to go out, but that is nothing compared to last season's achievement of winning it.
We are a team in transition. Mata, Hazard and Oscar are awesome football players and will grow into a great attacking unit, but not with the Invisible 9 that Torres has been giving. If we are in for Falcao that will transform the side. It is the same with Terry. No matter how many people say that Terry isn't that good, the fact is that we are an infinitely better side when he's leading the defence.
Having said that, if Sturridge wasn't really injured for tonight then Di Matteo should really be packing his bags. I do think Sturridge was injured though. And it's just killed us that the moment that Torres has played himself away from the Bridge that Sturridge is injured and not able to step in when we need him.
