On the other hand, I had a lovely day at Trent Bridge yesterday. Bloody marvellous ground. Shame about the Lancashire collapse and Horton getting out on 99, but Saj's cameo put the smile back on my face. Good start for us this morning as well, just need to keep on top of them. Didn't make the Stratford Haven unfortunately, didn't have time to get beyond the Trent Bridge Inn. Decent, but it is just an expensive Wetherspoons at the end of the day.

Weird day today, backed England ladies against the Aussies (WON) in a double with Hampshire to beat Surrey. Hampshire only got 120 odd and Surrey were cruising at 52-1 until they collapsed big time and ended up all out for 90 odd. Happy days !

I still dont know how Pyrah gets so many wickets... I played against him as a junior (albeit he was a few years younger than me), and he had a 60 yard run up to bowl nothing more than medium pace even at junior level. Somebody must have worked with him somewhere on that as he is becoming more of a bowler than a batter, which was the total opposite as a kid.

P*ssed with Andrew Gale too, backed him for top batsman last week when he was stumped second ball for 2. Learnt a lesson, left him alone yesterday and he bangs in 60 odd.

I had a look at the wicket on Tuesday dinner. Not a mark on it. Apparently it was just the conditions on Monday - muggy as hell.

Spare a thought for poor Alviro Petersen - the proud owner of a King Pair in the Derbyshire-Glamorgan match this week. Now that's a real rarity.

A good first day for Lancs, helped by some 20/20 style batting from the Sarj at the end of the day! Sounded like the pitch is doing a bit but isn't too bad if you apply yourself.
