McLaren- Lewis Hamilton
Williams- Nico Rosberg
Renault- Fernando Alonso

Is anybody else struggling to be convinced that once practice is over and qualifying starts, Ferrari aren't going to miraculously leap to the top of the team sheets? Might just be paranoia. I'd love to see some new faces at the front, I just hope it happens.

I'm yet to be convinced McLaren wont do it, let alone Ferarri.

Like you, I'd like to see Brawn, Williams, et al towards the top of the sheets, but I just get the impression there's a lot of sandbagging going on, even now.

Friday morning practice is a time for trying out different setups on the car, practicising how it goes in race conditions etc.

Saturday morning practice is more of an indicator of genuine pace as the cars are normally set up as they would be for qualifying.

Can you give me a hand with these goalposts..?

Heiki and Hamilton came 17th and 18th in Friday practice. Rosberg 1st and Barrichello 2nd. IMO F1 will be a lot closer than last year and there could be some surprise results.

Let#s hope they do us proud.

McLaren, and Hamilton in particular, performed appallingly in both sessions. Ferrari weren't much better, averaging around 10th.

Great day for Brawn GP, but both Ferrari and McClaren have looked well off the pace in qualifying. Hamilton will really have to go for it tomorrow, starting from 15th, if he wants to get his title defence on track.

Thank god there will be no adverts this year on F1 coverage. Good to see Martin Blundell and Ted Kravitz on tthe commentary team like last year.

Hamilton had to pull out of Q2 due to problem with the rear of the car.
