It seems the rumours about Suarez moving to City were started by Liverpool themselves, if you believe the journos on Twitter. What do you make of that? I think a lot of clubs would be put off by his thirst for controversy and he's never looked like he wanted to leave, so I doubt he'll go anywhere.
The one Liverpool need to worry about is Raheem Sterling. I'll bet the rumours of an imminent City raid are true, they just weren't about Suarez.'"
Suarez won't go City. He won't go to another English club andwe wouldn't let him. In the summer I'd if been worried but having signed a new 5 year deal to stay at Anfield, I'm confident he'll be going nowhere.
Raheem will sign a new contract next month when he turns 18.

Contracts don't mean a thing in football, they are merely used by clubs as a device to keep a player's value up at its maximum.
Most players will happily sign them because they usually mean a healthy pay rise and with most players, especially the top ones, they will be filled with clauses which will make any future move a simple task.
At the moment, Suarez and Liverpool will both be happy enough, because the player is getting a nice payday and Liverpool can at least ask for his full value (and more) when the big clubs come calling.

He won't go. Infact I'll happily bet £20 with anybody on here who to give to a chosen charity.

I was thinking more BIG clubs, rather than sides who are actually smaller than Liverpool, but just happen to have rich owners....PSG are in a tinpot league, he may as well go to Celtic.
I'd be thinking one of the Spanish big two, one of the Milan's or Juve, or maybe City, if they got another title and looked for a marquee signing to push them on in Europe.
While not neccessarily a big club, another title for City would convince more doubting foreign mercenaries that they are indeed the real thing.

| Jen Chang leaves Liverpool.
LFC have said his behaviour didn't match the standards expected by the club. They said that official club guidelines should have been followed, namely that they should have contacted Gerrard's gangster mates and let him deal with the problem.

I don't think I've made a post about Terry since the FA verdict.

| Just on the gangster threat issue.
Personally I don't have an issue with the Gerrard family protecting themselves as they did. They went to the police. They tried as best they could to do things in the right way, but the police were impotent to protect them. So they asked a favour from a friend and it was sorted.
But I do think if John Terry was the player being threatened, and he'd done the same thing, he wouldn't have got off easy like Gerrard has. He'd have been condemned for getting involved with gangsters.

| Horrific day for Everton today. West Brom beat Chelsea and we go and embarrass ourselves at Reading. They need to be more ruthless, sounds like we again have about 20 good chances in the first half alone and went in only 1-0 up.

| QPR appear to be providing ample proof that you can't just play Football Manager and hope to suddenly come up with a solution to the problem that your manager is an incompetent.....
I think old twitchy eye will be back in a Premier League dugout next weekend....

| For the 1st time in years Blackburn are playing football thats good to watch. After BFS hoofball and whatever Kean was trying to get them to do it's taken a couple of weeks for Berg to get the team to pass to each other and keep the ball.If we can get a decent centre half to play with Dann in January and having a scorer like Rhodes upfront I can see us making a run in the second half of the season to get one of the 2 automatic promotion places.

| Painful to watch United lump the ball in to Norwich's box, time-after-time, only to see the Ruddy collect/Norwich's centre halves head it out, time-after-time. Partnering Carrick with an elder statesmen, be it Giggs or Scholes against sides which press and harry is bordering on the ridiculous. Got away with it last week, but found out this.

Ferguson's unwillingness to buy a central midfielder is on par with Arsene Wenger's refusal to sign defenders for stubbornness. He's got enough forward options but most United games this season have resembled basketball games as there is just nothing in their midfield.

there hasn't been for years, it's baffling, the midfield has needed work for years
Anderson and Cleverley on the bench when some energy is needed?

When he brought Scholes and kept Giggs on, I thought I was having an out of body experience. Couldn't believe what I was seeing.

| Norwich were outstanding against Man United last night. John Ruddy was never really troubled. It's nice to see things going well for Chris Hughton as he seems to be one of the good guys of the game, and was the only premier league player who wore his shorts higher than Gary Pallister.
Luis Suarez is starting to show his quality on a regular basis now, still has many character flaws but so have many of the Premier League greats. Manchester City have hit tthe top without really hitting any type of form. Everton are showing why they aren't realistic top four contenders, I'd actually bet Liverpool will finish higher. I agree with the posts above about Man United need midfield help, I'd love to see Kagawa stay injury free and get a few games under his belt along with Darren Fletcher.

Wasn't being dismissive of the canaries, just whining about the ongoing mystery of the midfield, strange game in some respects neither team really threatened

Suarez is running away with the Player of the Year award at the moment - He is single handedly steering Liverpool away from having a mediocre season and actually keeping them in contention for a top 6 finish, which should be nigh on impossible when you see the players that Suarez has to work with.
However, Liverpool really don't help themselves when you read Jamie Carragher coming out with stuff that suggests they are a credible top 4 finisher....I'm not saying it is impossible, but at this point in time, Carragher would be better off just letting their performances do the talking, instead of building up the hopes of the often, overly optimistic kopites, which usually just leads to disappointment and the usual harking back to the good old days.
Rodgers is doing an okay job at the moment and his biggest enemy is expectation, so Carragher building up that expectation is not ideal.

All he has said is that it's up for grabs still, which it is. As for Suarez, absolutley unreal, best player in the PL at the minute. Aside from Spurs away a week on Wednesday, we have a good run of fixtures from now till Janurary, every game is winnable, hopefully we can kick on and go on a good run, having said that we're still unbeaten in the last seven PL games, which can only fill us with confidence.

He's slightly in the lead right now. But he'll need to be twice as good to win it.
Liverpool are still having a mediocre season. They are in with a shout of the top 6 because there are a lot of mediocre sides in the league. To make out that Liverpool are achieving something when they're 11th in the league is ridiculous.
