| Not going too badly thus far - Nikita Du Berlais, Kauto Stone and Questarabad have all gone in whilst Rubi Ball was a close up third.

Think Tom Cooper might have a double on the card with the previous course scorer (in 2008 now 7lbs higher) Do You Follow Me who returns to the track for the first time since and on his third run back after a prolonged absence. He's 1 out of 2 at the course and shaped nicely last time out and has a light race in this handicap hurdle. He's currently a best priced 16/1 with Bet365, SJ and Corals
Martin'"
Bit closer up on the run in it would of won!

| Yeah not the best ride from young Mr Cooper but he's learning, given how far back he was I think the horse was lucky to get a place, ran on very strongly though so maybe 3m Limerick might be the next time to look into backing him.
Look out for Our Victoria who goes to Punchestown on Wednesday btw.

| Quote ="Carneys Pint"Going through the card at Auteuil today:
Race 1 - Monipilou - PU
Race 2 - Nikita Du Berlais - Won
Race 3 - Terisandre Du Basc - Unplaced
Race 4 - Quoquoalco - Fell
Race 5 - Kauto Stone - Won
Race 6 - Questarabad - Won
Race 7 - Rubi Ball - Third
Race 8 - Santorine - Unplaced
Martin'"
Monipilou - Imagine he'll go back over hurdles until he turns 4 now.
Nikita Du Berlais - Heads to the Group 1 Prix Cambaceres next month to face the boys again.
Terisandre Du Basc - Will probably drop in grade and find a conditions hurdle for him back here
Quoquoalco - Likely to drop back into an AQPS conditions chase (there's one back at Auteuil early next month)
Kauto Stone - Heads to the Group 1 Prix Maurice Gillois next month and then to England for the Feltham Novices Chase (taking the Long Run route), not backed him for Cheltenham as yet and don't think he's as good as Long Run or his brother. If previous horses the owners have had are an accurate guide he'll likely end up with Ian Williams or Alan King
Questarabad - Heads to the big staying hurdle at Auteuil next month and then probably to a prep race for the World Hurdle.
Rubi Ball - Goes to the Prix La Haye Jousselin, doubts about whether he'll stay and the first two from today (Mid Dancer and Oculi) will re-oppose along with the down the field (though better for the run) Remember Rose.
Santorine - Another similar race to this.

| Anyone else think 9/2 (stanjames) about the unbeaten Zenyatta for the Breeders Cup Classic is more then decent?
Became the first female to win it last year and in awesome style.

Got fancy Goldikova as well just over 11/1 the double.

| Zenyatta is a beast of a horse but there's still a doubt about her for me at the very highest level on a conventional dirt surface.
Lookin At Lucky, Blame (odds-on defeat 2nd October) and Quality Road (training up to the BC) will be the main doubts, Zen seldom travels outside of Southern California (was due to run at Oaklawn, Arkansas in April mind and at Churchill Downs, KY in May).
9/2 is more than fair IMO.

| The two runs though on dirt at Oaklawn have been the biggest margin of victory she has won by.
If she hadn't of run on dirt yet I would of left it but 19 not out @ 9/2 you just wouldn't get that on a horse racing over here.

| Punchestown 3.40 Voler La Vedette 11/8 and 13/8
“She has done really well during the summer. She will be better for the run but I think she should still go very well. The conditions suit and she’ll give a good account of herself,” Colm Murphy said yesterday.

| 17:20 Punchestown - Our Victoria. From the top yard of Colin Bowe and will have come on for her run at Castletown-Geoghan just under two weeks ago, plenty of her stablemates are improving for a run in 2010/11.
Best Price 8/1
19:10 Kempton - Achalas. From primarily a jumps stable but ran very well on her debut here just under two weeks ago, likely to go well again and is massively overpriced.
Best Price 66/1

| 17:15 Punchestown - The Fox's Frolic - Been waiting for this horse to run for a while now, he's a multiple winning pointer who generally front runs with todays very good female jockey (Liz Lalor) when racing between the flags. He was switched to race under rules during the summer having been successful at Stradbally in May (front ran again), on his rules debut he was "towards rear, kept on one pace from 4 out" when contesting a 2 1/2m Beginners Chase at Tipperary followed by "always towards rear, tailed off" over 2m 1f at Limerick, before one final run for a h handicap mark "prominent, ridden in 4th before straight, soon no impression and kept on same pace" when stepped up to 2m 6f, the final two occassions he was ridden by Michael Ferris. He returned to the races this Autumn when running the very useful (Grade 3 winner on his day) Gaspar to a length at Rathcannon last month, a race in which Sky's The Limit (former Cheltenham Festival winner and a winner two weekends ago) was fourth. There are very few QR riders races over fences in Ireland and i'm convinced seeing the conditions of the race and the way this horse has been campaigned in the past 6 months that this has been the target for a long time.
Best Price - 8/1 Bet365 (only firm up)

Godolphin hold the aces here with the favourite Psychic Ability who looks a strong favourite with Frankie up however its stablemate Roman Republic looks interesting at around 16/1 each way. The horse looked one to follow over these sort of races when winning a few times for Mark Johnston but went to Godolphin to race in Dubai where its only run it started 5/4 fav but could only finish 3rd. Its two races this year have both been hotly run handicaps and at first glance have been dissapointing, but on both starts Roman Republic was backed in from 12/1 to 15/2fav and 5/1 to 9/2fav. The Godolphin boys obviously believe its a better horse than it has been showing, but today its been given a few months off and comes back off only a 1lb higher mark than winning last season for Johnston. Id have thought it would have been about 8/1 today but at double that price it looks really good value to run a big race.
