All goes quiet on this thread when the Knicks get beat doesn't it?

Looks like Spurs are gonna struggle to get through, case of the Cavs by the looks of it.

OKC looking good though, Ibaka's stepping it up to cover Westbrook having a bad un.

Hard to be angry at the moment. We have Billups out and Amare playing hurt. We're battling through but don't stand a chance. Hopefully the CBA will get sorted and we can look to add parts for next year and hopefully get some kind of defensive presence in there. We may end up with a new GM and Coach as well.

I agree, not having a proper team the Knicks are one of those that I follow and want to do well. Just unfortunate that its the Celtics in game 1, theyre just too good and too experiences especially when 2 of the 3 aren't available for the Knicks.

You reckon D'Antoni is gone then? I don't think he's the best coach to get the knicks back up there, I think I could manage to get a side containing Melo and Amare to do well offensively, was always gonna to be whether they could stack up defensively with the big boys.

I am seriously concerned with what ESPN America is doing to my sleeping pattern at the moment. Having watched baseball and NFL for years on channel 5 and SKy I now find I'm being drawn to basketball and even ice hockey and that once I start watching something I have to watch until the end. These double OT ice hockey games are killing me!

I was pretty disappointed with the Knicks who I thought might give Boston a good series but I guess experience showed through massively, especially when the injuries kicked in

I wondered that. They appear to be showing less in the play offs than the regular season!

Yet the MLB is on live. How can they show MLB over the NBA? MLB is dire, especially watching it at home.

That may change. It was similar last week then loads of games appeared.

Do me a favour, you seem to have luck on your side when you check the schedule, tell me when the games are on as it never says on Virgin Media. The second round starts tonight and they aren't showing a game, WTF are they playing at. MLB is on instead!

Thought the first Big 3 vs Big 3 match was interesting, Celtics seemed to lose their cool which doesn't bode well after game 1.

Agree about the Celtics, but as ever, like a woman scorn they will return and give Miami a very hard time next game. Should make for a very exciting series tonight.

Partial to the Knicks, but also like the Clippers just cos Blake is unreal.

Blake is a phenom, i don't think anyone predicted him taking off (literally) as much as he did this year. Brilliant.

I don't generally follow teams in the NBA, I generally just follow players. My first 'favourite' was Kobe, purely because he was on the front cover of NBA Live 2003, after that it was probably Tim Duncan. Favourite player at the moment is probably Blake, Manu or Roy, with a bit of a soft spot for D-Will, Paul and Rose.

Always watched the Cavs cos of LeBron as well. If he'd have gone to Miami without being hated, he'd be MVP again this year.

This year's MVP is a little odd; how exactly is it awarded? Is it awarded to the best player in the league? The player who's been the most important to his team?

LeBron hasn't been as valuable to Miami as he was to Cleveland in previous seasons, as they have Wade and Bosh who have both had good seasons. Can you really say LeBron has been so important to Miami that he deserves the MVP award? I'm not so certain. Statistically, of course LeBron should win, but stats aren't everything.

Lebrons value can be measured by how shat the Cavs are now with pretty much the same team. Amare had a chance over the first half of the season. Nowitski doens't get as much credit as he deserves or Kevin Durant.

I know what you're trying to say, it's obvious LeBron is the best player in the league, but he hasn't been the Most Valuable, IMO.

Not at all. Just adding my two penneth. Derrick Rose is by far the most valuable to his team.

I agree with a lot of what your saying, but Chicago have more of a team around Rose. They have 4 or 5 other players who can chip in and score consistently good numbers.

At Miami Wade's been interrupted with injury a few times, Bosh has only started to come into good form last 1/3 of the season and after those two, there's nothing but LeBron every night. The supporting cast has been woeful there.
