Seeing the faces and names of the 96 really hit me I don't cry alot but I was in bits when they showed that.

That's what my 13 year old said at the end of the Memorial Service when all the names and photos were shown. I just looked at him and the thought of him going to any game and him not returning just breaks my heart.

Liverpool TV on Sky 434 is free today and has programmes looking back all day. Some very interesting interviews on there.

It always makes me shudder when I watch European games and still see the cages at the bottom of stands.

There was problems in france a few years back in a champions league game involving Man Utd where too many fans got penned into a small space, then the french police decided to try and calm them down by firing Tear Gas.

Aye, we were playing Lille. Shocking that UEFA allow grounds like that to stage such big matches.

The inquiry into the disaster led by Lord Chief Justice Taylor established that main cause was a failure of police crowd control.

Lets not forget why the fences were there in the first place.

Hooliganism was not a factor on that day but the previous 20 years or so and the way football supporters were looked at by the rest of society (and in particular by the police) was the ultimate cause of the tragedy.

I'm not disagreeing with that. My point is that despite seeing what can happen at games with cages, these countries have done nothing to rectify it.

No ultimate cause was the police opening the gate to let fans into the already full central pens instead of directing them to the side ones with space in.

Did anybody attend today at Anfield? It seems very important to quite a few of you and rightly so.

I couldn't make it today to be honest I don't know if I could of made it through all of it, only saw the end part on tv and that was enough to set me off.

I'm sorry, but that contradicts any evidence.

People weren't penned into a small space at that Lille game. There was loads of room to the left of the United end - everyone just entered the stand and stood in the middle. With no stewarding to move people around to the empty sections of the stand, everyone just kept piling into the middle and down to the front.

The fences themselves weren't the problem. Inadequate emergency exits in those fences and poor policing and stewarding were the problems.

I also wish people would stop mentioning ticketless supporters. The number of ticketless fans who had turned up was minimal and not a contributing factor. It's easy to believe the myth, though.

Indeed and if it had happened in Spain or France and not Sheffield we would not have done anything either.

It's on LFC tv now, lot's of people would have lost one if not two family members, amazing turnout from the Liverpool public.

To this day not one single Liverpool fan has ever stood up and admitted that they were at Hillsborough that day without a ticket

Yes the police officer in charge made a big mistake , but he was put in that position by a large number of Liverpool fans , it could have been any of a number of other clubs , anybody who went to those type of matches in the 70,s and 80,s knows what used to happen

Unfortunatley the ones that died were the ones that should have been there , hopefully one day just one of the people who know in their hearts the contribution they made to the disaster will hold their hand up and admit it
