| Loved the Mitchell fight. Deserves a crack at the world title and must be His next fight. Khan is learning quickly.

| Not so long ago, I got criticised on here for daring to suggest that a fighter of Khan's style could be the most likely to take Mayweather's unbeaten record, and after last night's fight I think its well worth me repeating that claim.
Yes, Khan is not the finished product, but with his awesome speed, Roach's technical guile in his corner, and a much more solid defence he has shown since his defeat, there is no reason that Khan cannot become a World great, never mind a British one.
As quite a few people said at the time, Khan's defeat has been a blessing in disguise, as it jolted him out of this bizarre idea that he had of himself, as some type of Mike Tyson-esque boxer, just standing toe-to-toe, winging in constant big shots and dicing with the possibility of being tagged on a suspect chin.
His speed was always more suited to the style he has displayed since, which, while more cautious, can still be destuctive because of his undoubted speed and power.
Mayweather should certainly not be seen as some sort of fantasy for Khan...12-24 months down the line he may well be Floyd's most viable option.

I agree. Khan is the real deal and I just don't get the hate and crticism he gets from British fans.
His speed is frightening. If he keeps working on his defence under Roach, he will become a great, I've no doubt about it.

Unfortunately, it probably has more to do with the colour of his skin and his religious persuasions, than any boxing matters....

| I'm really starting to get convinced by Khan. I didn't like his brashness so early in his career and i feel the Prescott knockout could be the best thing that has happened to him so far. With Roach in his corner he definitely has the right credentials to dominate for years to come

| Khan was certainly impressive last night and has the potential to be a world great but we're still to see his chin be tested again since the Prescott fight and only after he's been in a 10/11/12 round war will we see whether he's the real deal or not.

Agreed, but that's the whole point about developing his defence and changing the immature approach he was intially guilty of.
You would hope that he'll never be in a position where his chin is hung out to dry like it was against Prescott....Yes, he'll undoubtedly take a few on the chin again, but without getting too technical, basically there are different ways of taking a punch....The method he had in his early days was very wrong, thus he eventually got exposed big time.
Lennox Lewis was a prime example....In his two defeats he got caught cold, pure and simple, and got counted out, yet he probably got hit harder in other fights (e.g. Klitchsko, Holyfield) and was able to take the shots....Khan will hopefully learn this art.

| I agree with the Angry Pirate (which sounds oh so wrong, because of the name, you understand). Khan very impressive, Salita very unimpressive. Enjoyed the Mitchell-Prescott tear up.

That's the key for Khan, listening to Freddie Roach. If he does as he is told then he has the chance to become a great, his natural speed and power is frightening.

He had the potential to go on do amazing things. But apparently didn't have the commitment or desire to fulfill it.
I think Khan does, he's picking up good training habits from the Pacman. Roach said there is only Khan who can keep up with Manny in the gym - that must do his confidence the world of good.
Good things are gonna happen with him in the future. He shouldn't even bother with Hatton. I actually with Warren about Hatton.. He should stay out of the ring

| The major obstacle to Khan's continued success could be Freddie Roach's health. You can hear the slurring starting to come through in his speech when he's interviewed much more recently IMO.
I don't think he's anything to gain from taking on Kevin Mitchell - if Mitchell wants a shot at a genuine world title then he needs to go away and beat a couple more top ten fighters.

I've noticed that, his symptoms look to be getting worse. I thnk it was on HBOs 24/7 show fro ma few fights ago - it said the shaking and speech thing gets worse closer to a fight due to the stress/long hours he puts in.
Roach has a brilliant mind, I think that's his best quality - the amount of studying he does for a fight. He said he studied Hatton for 8 weeks and probably knew him better than Ricky knew himself! He was probably right too.
I think it's time for Khan to give America a go. The fans should really take to his style

| David Haye at his best....
Quote ="BBC Sport"And Haye, who won the WBA title from Russian giant Nikolay Valuev last month, is keen to meet Klitschko in the ring before age catches up with him.
"Vitali is nearly 40 years of age now and the clock is ticking," said Haye.
"There are probably one million dudes in America called Kevin Johnson, and beating one of them doesn't make you an all-time great heavyweight.
Heavyweight title fights should be huge events, not an after-thought in a country most famous for producing Toblerones
"Vitali's greatest performance to date is a loss to Lennox Lewis. That's his most memorable fight and the one result on his record that will be remembered in the history books.
"The Klitschkos (Vitali and brother Wladimir) don't care about being great fighters, whereas I do.
"They may be big in Switzerland, but so are yodellers, and nobody wants to watch them fight.'"

I wonder what the Americans think of him? I know Mr De La Hoya likes him, maybe he is going to co-promote with Golden Boy Promotions to 'break' America'"
But if the fighters are not there what can you do. They're is not a heavyweight on the planet at the moment who would capture the imagination in the way an Ali, Tyson or even a Holyfield or Lewis did and even if Haye was undisputed World Champ he would still not get the plaudits they did because it is not a "sexy" weight division at present and until there are a crop of genuine world class fighters at that level, and have a bit of charisma that the Russia lot lack, nothing is going to change.

| Anyone see the Boxing last night on SS1?
That David Price fight was funny! The other fella looked shocked that he punched him. Fancy that!
I turned off half-way through the 'wrestling match' between Broadhurst and can't remember other fella's name.

| Klitschko was far too clinical last night. Haye would have to win inside 6 rounds or Vitali might jab His head off 2nd half of the fight.
