Entries released yesterday for this and a few firms have it priced up. The one who interests me in this is the Willie Mullins mare Quevega . She hacked up in her first two starts for Mullins in Ireland (a soft ground Maiden Hurdle and a Heavy ground Novice's race) before disappointing in behind Won In The Dark - as far as i know there's no excuse put forward for that run.
The run that interests me the most though is her 3rd place finishing behind Grivette and Hurricane Fly the form of which has been franked by both the front two (Grivette having now won 4 on the spin since PU behind Questarabad), the 4th has won a Grade 3 whilst the 7th is Grade 1 placed. Given the current climate provided the meeting goes ahead I can't see her not getting her ground.
She's not run since that but provided she's fit and healthy - and she should be running off a mark of around 127, which IMHO looks unbelievably lenient for a horse of her quality.
25/1 with Bet365 looks far too big about a potential David Nicholson Hurdle contender.

Joys of antepost guess work. Got a few in place for cheltenham already but its always risky in advance although price advantageous usually.
How likely is this to run.. obviously you cant say if injured etc but is it being aimed at the race do you know?
Also on your Hurricane Fly viw.. how sure are you its in the Supreme?? Strongly fancy it myself but seems it could be in any of 3 races.

| I'm not convinced the Fly is going to the Supreme.
Mullins has all but ruled out the Champion (backed him at 40's for it), so it's either the Ballymore (at 9's currently) or the Supreme (5's tops). I think he's the best Novice Hurdler we've seen this year - the only horse IMHO who is capable of beating him at 2m 5f is his stablemate Mikael D'Hagunet.
People talk up Mad Max and Diamond Harry but from what I've seen of them so far they don't have the turn of foot of the Hurricane and IMO Mikael is a classier sort than Diamond Harry anyway for the 2m 5f race.
Can't say for sure that it's the target but she's the class horse in the race and if she goes for it then she sure won't be 25's on the day. Given none in the field are guaranteed to run at this stage I make her a 12/1 shot at most if she lines up. Well worth the risk for double the price IMO.

| Sadly not - except if you're on Non-Runner-No-Bet (NRNB for short). They don't generally do this until about a week before the race itself for the Festival.
IMO it's worth the risk, can see the Hurricane having two more runs at most between now and Cheltenham (next start likely to be the Deloitte Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown on Hennessy weekend).

| 2/1 Arsenal and Newcastle double. Very tempting (even given Arsenal's history with Bolton)

| There will be a shock in the NFL play offs on the weekend. Can't decide where though. Leaning toward Baltimore to win in Tennessee at the moment.

| Had a fiver on Osasuna t beat Bilbao last night. Found out the result was 1-1 which obviously pee'd me off as I wanted to win the bet, but then got real angry when I found out it was a very late equaliser by Bilbao

I apologise in advance if Ipswich mess it up for you. We're not very consistent.
On a side note, I wonder what the odds on Murray to win Wimbledon are this early in the year.

| Only had the two bets today - one racing and one RU.
[u:z2hqgeit :z2hqgeitRacing:z2hqgeit[/u:z2hqgeit
:z2hqgeitAmerican World - 16:00 - Ayr:z2hqgeit
Not a fan of backing topweights, particularly in soft ground handicaps but I've been waiting for this horse to run since November. Saw him at Warwick and the trainer and jockey where called into the stewards room over the running and riding of the horse (only horse I know of to stay on after suffering an over-reach - dubious explanation to say the least). Been given some fairly timid rides of late most recently at Haydock over Chrismtas and has the benefit of AP McCoy today and the trainer likes a punt.
[u:z2hqgeit :z2hqgeitNorthampton vs. Leicester:z2hqgeit[/u:z2hqgeit
:z2hqgeitNorthampton in 80 minutes @ 5/4:z2hqgeit
Have taken some of the 5/4 about Northampton winning in 80 minutes. The handicap is -1 in some places which would near enough make it an each of two situation (ie. 5/6 both sides). The price is far too big given the home form shown by Northampton this season (unbeaten in the Guiness Premiership) and an easy win against Bristol last time out. In contrast Leicester are coming off a very tight game against Bath last week and haven't won away from home in the league since 20th September (2 defeats and one draw in that time).
Good luck to those having a bet today and hopefully a special coming up for Leopardstown tommorow
Martin[/u'"
That god for that, I await with baited breath.
Done £40 today coming 2nd in pretty much every race I bet on.

| American World - Never put into the race, held up in rear off top weight and on soft ground and by the time the jockey even started to ride him (no use of whip I must add) he was at least 9 lengths off the pace. Shocking.

Final Score: 17-13
Much closer than the scoreline suggests - Myler missed 5 kicks and a drop-goal in the first half alone.

| The special was supposed to be :cn97cnjdBlackstairmountain:cn97cnjd in the last at Leopardstown today - but it's a hot race and there's been words for about 5 or 6 in the field so it's a no bet race for me
Only other bet is :cn97cnjdBohemian Lass:cn97cnjd also at Leopardstown - a number of the runners in the race won last time out but she's getting the mares allowance, has won her last two starts and has a decent jockey in Joe Cullen on board.
Sorry it's very short notice
