that i know of that wants england to win the world cup. i support all british club sides in europe and all briitsh national sides in euro and world cup qualifiers. really don't understand the hatred of england in scotland it's cringeworthy. do you guys like seeing scotland and the other home nations side doing well?

I support the home nations as long as they are not playing England usually and as long as they are not called Andy murray

I always used to support Scotland when England weren't playing and always wish the Scottish club sides well in Europe whether it be Rangers, Celtic, Hearts etc.

However, I went out with a girl from Aberdeen for a number of years, who had the loveliest famliy and the nicest, warmest, welcoming friends,..... except where the England football team were corncerned. Pure hatred. I was genuinely shocked at the level of it at first, but got used to it.

Was up there when Southgate missed the penalty in Euro 96. People hugging each other and crying with happiness in the street. Has made me a bit anti Scottish since, but guess it's just one of those things,

It does go a bit far, but it is entertaining to see everyone in England build their hopes up every two years only to be dashed again.

Not really a fan of Wendyball but when England are playing(apart from yawnion) in a World cup i will always shout for them.

I don't have an unbelievable hatred toward england but i'd never want them to win. At the end of the day the 2 countries aare close rivals, you wouldn't get a Saints fan willing Wigan on because they're from Lancs etc. it's just sporting rivalry. Plus i really hate the way England build these things up and the way the fans go on about stuff. It's annoying.

I support Scotland and only Scotland. I do not care about any other team. You might find the problem being that England looks down on Scotland. As you are Scottish you should understand why the England team are not popular.

Not all English look down on the Scots,but it looks like it's not the same vice versa.

I'll admit being a Saints fan i could never shout for the pies,but if they were playing an Aussie team i would always shout for them.

Facts....

Scotland is a small country with a massive chip on its shoulder regarding the English. They want to see the English fail because in a roundabout way it helps to cover up the fact that on a sporting level they are sodding useless.

England doesn't give a monkey's about Scottish teams and how they do, because in the main they play at an inferior level....It'd be similar to a Leeds Rhinos fan getting all excited if Hunslet got beat by Blackpool....It isn't going to happen.

England's greatest sporting rivalries are with the Germans and the Aussies, the Scots are just a minnow who get all hard at another countries failings....

Does that mean that England fans have a chip on their shoulder about Scotland then, 'cause all english sports fan i know still want Scotland to fail. So why is that? Or we just going to come out with 'well they started it'? Again, it's just sporting rivalry.

There's no doubt England have had a bigger dent on world sport than Scotland, but England are still not as good as they make themselves out to be in that world of sport and Scotland still has produced some good sportsmen and women. In a country less than a tenth the size (population wise) than England as well let's not forget.

The post above is quite happily what i expect from English folk as banter, yet posting it still show you care enough about little Scotland to get a debate going.
