| Well at the ground I thought that looked naff on the big screen.
I suppose it may work better on TV but at the ground on the big screen it looked like a couple of old blokes sneaking out for a fag.

It didn't work better on TV. Looked like a couple of security guards fiddling with the stock on the nightshift at Curry's.

When I saw it the first time I thought Sky had a technical fault.
They now announce the reason for verdict over the tannoy at the ground which is fine but just give up on the notion we want to watch these two's backs.

| I only heard the announcement once, but I probably wasn't listening out for it. Not a bad idea in general.
As for watching two blokes' backs. Terrible.

| Hated it, they managed to suck even more life out of the video ref technology. I used to love the anticipation when it went to the screen, not knowing what would come up on the screen when the decision was made. Now you know it's going to be a try long before it comes up as they always go to the grounding, and now they have a couple of guys stood in front of a screen pressing buttons, the illusion is shattered, for mine, I always used to think they sat on some big leather chair in a nice cushty room with a huge screen in front of them, but alas, no.

| Ha ha, I totally agree though. The VR is all about anticipation. Get rid of that and it's crap.

| And I thought they just used a pack of cards, pull a red heart or diamond it's a try.
Ganson looks like he's struggling big time to use the technology, agree the verbal explanation for why a try or not is awarded is a positive move though.

| Lose the awkward shots of them making the decision, keep the announcement. Simple.

| The BBC got it right for TV. Picture in picture at the ground, unless the screen gets bigger it's a total waste of naff looking media.

| As it was the first time they've tried it I'm prepared to give them "benefit of the doubt" The idea is good but we don't want to see the backs of the video refs. Better to just show the screen they are looking at, what they are looking for, and audio for the reasoning and decision.

| The use of the white line to determine onside/offside is an improvement.
I wonder if they dare try to use that for forward passes allied to looking as closely as possible at the angle of the hands & arms?

| Haven't been able to bring myself to watch it back yet so can't comment on what it looks like on TV, but it definitely doesn't work in the stadium. We don't need to see the onfield ref or the video refs, just play a fullscreen replay and then have a fullscreen decision, like it's always been. Being able to hear the VR's assessment is a nice touch, but there was no need to mess with the visuals.

| I liked the announcement, I'm assuming it's a work in progress and that they may drop the picture of the refs and revert back to just showing the pictures. But it did seem to result in quicker decisions without the ref's having to go through a 3rd party.

| They have the 'skypad' on their F1 coverage and it is much better than the amateur hour use it got on Friday. The F1 guys know how to use it to good effect, Ganson and co looked like a toddler who has just found an ipad

| i like that they are announcing the decision to the stadium so your not completely baffled at how they have decided but the set up of showing the vid ref is completely shocking.
