Nah but if I were IL I would enquire about if Wire would release him as they are supposed to be signing Myler (who has been offered a contract at Salford to become their highest ever paid player and turned it down so he mustn't be on buttons at Wire) and Morley is getting on a bit and wil be on a fortune and maybe would leave wire to another club if he was offered a 2 year deal and I reckon we could get 2 years out of him, best prop in the league this year.
Always liked Morley and I remember in about 2003 he said he would give Wigan first refusal when his contract ran out at Sydney Roosters.
Wish we would have signed him!

I remember Mo stating that we put a contract in front of him but we couldn't afford the money he eventually went for.
You have to remember tho that we signed Fielden at the same time which would disrupt anyone’s budget.
At the end of the day we’d all love Morley over Fielden now but we made what we thought was the right decision at the time and you have to also remember we signed Fielden mid Season where Morley came in the off season.

Got to admit I was over the moon when we signed Fielden and wasn't bothered about Morley at the time we got Fielden but in hindsight obviously would have had Morley.
Looking into the future for signings I think there are only a few players I would take from other clubs them young players being (as its better to sign them up young therefore costing less) :-
Cas- Shenton, Westerman and Owen.
Bradford- Burgess
Catalans- Pelo
Celtic- ?
Huddersfield- ?
Harlequins- LMS
Hull FC- ?
Hull KR- Wheeldon
Salford- Myler
Saints- Wheeler, Eastmond
Wakefield- ?
Warrington- Cooper, Riley

If you had watched a few more games then I think you'd consider Whitehead, Donaldson and Halley. There are plenty at Wigan that other clubs would take though, that probably means that you don't need to go looking as much as some clubs.

| Did anybody notice Ryan Boyle last night for cas, we were supposedly linked with him but I didn't see much from him last night to say he would be a good signing for us. Although it was hard to follow him when he and Sargeant look like twins, Lenegan was there so if he was watching his performance I don't think he'll of been thrilled with it enough to sign him.

He didn't look a player thats any better then Prescott, O'Carroll or Mossop imo........infact not as good as any of those 3 on last night alone.
As for him looking like Sargent, Barrie McDermott said he does because he went to a Cas fancy dress party last weekend as Mitchell Sargent

| Westerman, Owen & Shenton should be the players we looked at from Cas. Boyle is no use, we have enough young props.

| According to a poster on another forum who lives in NZ there weekly rugby league publication states we are signing Webb this week. Hope it is true but just cannot see it advancing beyond the visa issues.
Wonder if the Antipodean cousin Dave "Nosey" Parker is behind the article.

Eventhough Webb would be a good signing and definitely imporove our pack he isn't the Peacock/Morley type prop that we need.
We have to replace Fielden with a world class prop at the end of next season.

I thought IL had lost interest in Webb, he was the prop we wanted, IL watched him in Aus, the visa thing could be a stumbling block.

I'm not saying he wouldn't be a good signing just I think someone more in the Peacock mould would be better for us.
Ideally get Webb in for 2010 and when Fielden and Coley go at the end of 2010 bring in someone like Luke Bailey (if Saints haven't snapped him up)
It will take more than Webb to make our pack feared again to be honest

| For those who watch the NRL what is his current form like? Is he playing well or is he going through a bad patch, and is he worth all the effort to get him here or can we do better by waiting a year.
In regards to his visa, if they won't let players in who have driving offences against them I can't see a chance there gonna let Webb in, who I believe has battered multiple people outside of the game to put it a good way.

As far as i know his only potential conviction is a drink drive charge that was held against him that i think he is contesting. He was done the day after his wedding driving back to help clean the venue.
Do not think he has any other convictions against his name.
As far as i had been told the visa problem was the issue that prevented him signing, but according at the other poster it has made the weekly rugby press in Australia that he has signed.
Personally doubt this to be true because of the visa situation and also down to the fact the Cowboys have already lost Tronc.
