Funny how it appears the money is the contributing factor to them all leaving.

plus the likes of Hampshire, Williams, Powell, Tierney, Burke etc etc who are coming through will have had to have been offered improved deals to keep them as they would have been targets for maybe half the other clubs in superleague.. The club are spreading the cap amongst a strong squad, not just a couple of top players as per 2002-2007 which was not a good time in the clubs history

so the better players will be targets as they know they can get more money in the NRL/Union or at other clubs who have a smaller number of top players so have more to spend on them.

Players nearly always leave for money. I'm not sure how this proves, or even supports the belief, that at Wigan you are required to give some of your wages Back.

If IL does miraculously managed to do this then he truly is the best businessman in the world. you pay him back for the privilege to play for wigan nice idea if you was a wigan fan wanting to play but somehow can't see players being to happy.

exactly money - players only earn for a short time so they try and get as much as possible over a career. Now with that in mind IF and i only posted the comment originally about the 20% because of where it came from, if players are not recieving what they percieve they are worth they will leave.

At the end of the day you and I, everyone on here is a fan, where as the club is a business and it needs to make money to survive. The days of playing for your hometown club for the love of the club are the differnce between a fan on here and a player looking to make it.

IMO the club have done right by letting certain players go at certain times, what grips my S%!T is when a player who is earning a decent crust for playing a game that most people if they had the ability would love to do, dont put the effort in.

My original comment was about something that was told to me by a players family and i have shared it - enough gibberish is spouted on here without me makiing rubbish up like this.

I don't think anybody on here is questioning wether you have been told this or not but whoever told you that is yanking your chain bud. there is no way a player would sign a contract for a certain amount of salary only for it to be taxed 20 percent from IL, why wouldn't he just offer them 20 percent less? or if he isn't paying players what they have signed for we would be facing a lot of court dates. maybe this players family hasn't been told the full story maybe its for a private pension? but 20 percent of your salary would still be a massive amount to pay into any financial products and you would still be given the option.

The amount of people who don't understand the breakdown on their pay slips is staggering.

This 20% sounds suspiciously like the amount of income tax a player would pay!!!

Plus, IL makes the tax man look generous (apparently)
